You can make a case for 11-1, 10-2, 9-3 in favor of Canelo.

After Jacobs, Jacobs' was his best performance imo, used all his skills and ability, then he moved up to 175, did the plodding high guard style, it worked and he just ran with it, less work than doing all he did against Jacobs

I don’t think he slipped yet. Over train maybe. Losing back to back and against an arch rival was weighing heavily on his mind. He didn’t want to lose and sure as hell didn’t want to get caught by a wild GGG punch. He beat GGG who still a hell of a puncher at 40. Also fighting at 175 is out of his league so the Bivol fight isn’t him slipping. If he fights Bivol again he will lose. Another tough fight would be Benavides. I think he stops Benavides. This is the fight that will tell us if he has slipped. No one else at 168 gives him trouble.

People as in the casual crowd to pro boxers. They were expecting to see Canelo dominate GGG as the general consensus was that Canelo purposely waited him out until GGG became too old to put up a competitive fight. Canelo thus should've had a sizable advantage in all departments since he is viewed as having gotten steadily better since the 2nd fight whereas GGG has been on a decline due to age + inactivity.

Canelo winning the fight thus isn't surprising. Thats expected. What's NOT expected was for him to struggle as much as he did.

thats just it, he didnt struggle. never was he in danger of losing this fight. people making up reasons for what they dont understand isnt going to change the fact that he easily beat ggg. as most people expected. and when these people youre talking about see ggg defend his mw titles successfully in the future, they will forget all about the nonsense theyre pushing now. pretend they never said anything. thats how things work with these same people.

Think when he went bit overboard with packing on muscle and thinking he was just some big puncher seemed to just go downhill

We may look back and see the Saunders fight as his peak. If not Saunders, perhaps GGG 1, before the knee surgery which limited his foot speed. But I will say Canelo looked very sharp last night early on. It got a little sloppy and chippy late, but the shots he was landing on GGG in the first half of the fight were crisp and accurate. So he's past peak physically at this point, but he's so seasoned that I think you could say he's still in his prime.

After GGG 2 hes started fixing fights. He can no longer go back to having real fights as a result

Probably face John Ryder after having hand surgery due to his affiliation with Hearn & him always wanting to have a fight in the UK, but who knows.
