Zags everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

    + Angles & footwork
    + Granite chin
    + Insane engine and workrate
    + Ring IQ and adaptability

Canelos feet are in cement compared to JC and although it wouldn't be quite the same as the Lacy whipping there would be similarities.

Canelo would probably start ok, and wind the first couple, but once Zags made some adjustments, he'd start to find Canelo's rythym and how he fights in spurts, and he'd then disrupt him and start putting on the pressure

In addition, given Canelo's gas tank, and the pace he would have to fight at against Calzaghe, the championship rounds could possibly even see a stoppage because ginger would be so gassed.

Joe Calzaghe is overrated as ****. His moronic cult followers go on about an iron chin despite him being dropped, what, 7 or 8 times in his career, once each against 40 year old Hopkins and RJJ.

He spent his entire career hiding out with a barely recognized belt fighting nobodies. His best win is legitimately Mikkel Kessler and an American prospect who went on to do **** all. No one would know the name JEFF LACY if Calslappy fans didn't bring him up every week.

Despite Canelo being hugely overrated himself, he is significantly more proven than Joe. It's laughable to think Calzaghe would have ever fought someone on the level of Bivol or GGG, much less a Mayweather. Just look at the resume's, folks.

Joe Calzaghe's "undefeated" run is an absolute joke.

    How does Ginger win?

He can't stop Joe who, contrary to what many will try and have you believe, had a great set of whiskers in his prime

He can't outwork him and beat him on points

Joe was plenty skillful himself and much more versatile than many will have you believe

And even with shot hands he could hit harder than many think when he wanted to

Joe was a very naturally gifted fighter and the complete package

Athleticism, speed of both hand and foot, skills, toughness and chin, stamina for days, and yes he was blessed with power too prior to his chronic hand problems and that goes right back to his teens.

'Today Joe acknowledges why he’s stayed retired, the toll it takes on a sportsman mentally and confesses to some health issues, including arthritis

“But it was also about listening to your body. I’ve got back trouble nowadays and did on occasion when I boxed and my hands are a mess, as they were throughout my career.

“However, now, I’m not even sure they could license me with the state of my hands. One of them is arthritic, according to the doctor and I do have a lot of issues with them, they are even more fragile now, time hasn’t really helped to heal them!

“I boxed from age nine, has my first amateur fight in 1982, I trained like a professional, was doing five mile road runs from the age of 12 or 13, so it’s hardly surprising the toll it has taken on me physically.

    “My body took a pounding.”

Flipping that question, did he actually, in terms of his health, retire too late?

“Absolutely without question, yes, my decision to retire came far too late in terms of living a totally normal life with my physical condition and well-being.

“If I’d have listened to the doctors I’d probably have never turned pro.

“I had hand problems from age 15 and even now I can’t bend back my left hand (reporter note: at this point he demonstrated and indeed, he can’t bend it) I boxed for money and to feed my children.

“I had periods in my career where I’d be promoting fights and telling everyone I was in the best shape of my career and the actual truth wouldn’t have been as appealing.

“Can you imagine? ‘Yeah, I don’t feel great, I’ve not been able to do one minute of sparring and I’ll have to beat this guy with one hand as the other one is so badly damaged’ it wouldn’t have sold out too many arenas, lines like that.

“That’s the way it is, I patched myself up with as much as I could, be it a cortisone injection or extra padding in sparring and I got on with things.'

And in addition to that he was fiercely competitive - you hit him he instinctively wanted to pay you back in kind and he had a very big heart too

His run isn't a complete joke to me, but yeah, he didn't fight at the top level very long. Whether or not he beats Canelo, which he very well may have, a disputed decision that I thought he lost vs. Hopkins is the crown jewel of his career. Every marquee name Joe has beaten was badly faded except Mikkel Kessler. Jeff Lacy was not good.

What a godly chin, getting knocked down by absolute nobodies, a 43 year old, and a COMPLETELY SHOT 40 year old.

Certified iron. I heard Vitali, Tua, and McCall have asked Joe what his secret is for absorbing shots.

The Eubank Calzaghe schooled would fk up anyone Canelo fought at 168... Canelo pretty much got a Gimme in his fight with a near shot 40-year old stationary target and still failed to impress & gassed.. imagine what Joes workrate & angles would do.. 168 is a wasteland right now .. & Canelo could only dream of putting on a boxing display like Calzaghe did against the likes of Lacy and Kessler and Eubank ... he was even struggling with Plant & Saunders ffs you think hes besting Calzaghe?
