I guess it's not a bad fight as it'll capture the Brit public's attention. I expect Eubank to be too sharp but the weight limit might just get to him over the distance. Interesting one.
World rated light heavyweight Conor Wallace, hot off his win over Faris Chevalier on the Opetaia undercard will face the only man to defeat him, Leti Leti, on a Tasman Fighters card on Nov 5 in Brisbane. Co main will be Taylah Robertson v Japan’s Chaoz Minowa. Also on the card are Dana Coolwell, Teremoana Jnr, Erik Sokolov and more.
Their first was a mini classic. Conor happily gave up his advantages in height and skill to slug it out with Leti. Gave us a good show but not how he probably should have approached it. Dana @ featherweight ipperino??
Yeah the first fight was an absolute beauty. I expect Conor to make adjustments but I think Leti forced him into that fight too. Can’t wait to watch. Yeah Dana will be at Featherweight again mate. That’s his weight from now on. We were really happy with his last performance and he’s going to be a handful at that weight.
Light Heavy is shaping up as a must-see division in this country. Conor Wallace & Paulo Aokuso are on upwards trajectories. They're with different promoters but matching them up would be a very interesting fight to determine the best at the weight in this country. That's of course if they're able to win their next ones against Leti the Yeti & Faris Chevalier respectively. Very tough opponents for both guys. Aokuso has said he wants to fight for a world title inside of 6 fights. Presumably he will get pointed towards an IBO version. It will be good to see Teremoana Jr back in action also. One of the best H/W talents I've seen based on the eye test. I'd like to see television get interested in him & build him up behind Justis Huni. Huni can be the shooting star of Australian boxing but build Teremoana up behind him & give him regular fights. If the shooting star was to burn out it would be nice if we still had a plan B for Australian boxing in the H/W division who we could go to. He'd be very hard to match without tv backing b/c whoever gets put in with him is taking a nap.
* Kambosos Jr has parted ways with Javiel Centeno and reunited with his original trainer Chris Bakis who cornered his first 14 fights as a pro. Assistant trainer will be Ronnie Sinclair and cuts man Brian Wilmot. * GK camp were upset with JC game plan and corner instructions for Haney fight . * Chris Bakis is head of security of billionaire crime boss Justin Hemmes.
Yes it’s likely to happen early next year. Hearing Huni will be out twice more before the end of the year, next one is likely to be against the Kiwi, Leutele. The Huni’s left for the USA for sparring a few days ago.
I like Briedis. Seriously good fighter, fight anyone, good chin, power, and comes to fight. Getting on in age, but still seems to be near (not far past) his peak. The step up in weight has seen him remain competitive, which just shows how good his chin is. I have big questions over Huni. Saw a video of him getting sunk in sparring vs a light heavy. Briedis will definitely trade with Huni as Hunis power is questionable. Briedis will land some. Will be very interesting how Huni handles getting hit by someone like Briedis.. .
* Justi Huni will have 3 weeks sparring at Justin Fortune Gym in LA sparring Frank Sanchez then another week in Las Vegas before returning for Leutele Nov 4 fight. * Stevie Spark has flown in Japanese sparring partner for three weeks sparring before heading to the states for Love fight. * Chris Billam Smith aiming for fight with Opetaia May. * Joyce vs Parker this Sun on Stan PPV $ 40 .
Nice to see Justis Huni getting some decent sparring in America. It's one thing to go over there, it's another to have the right kind of sparring lined up. Frank Sanchez is a very good H/W. There are several decent guys in Las Vegas also. Jared Anderson & Efe Ajagba come to mind. If Justis holds his own against the likes of them, he'll come back a better fighter.
Epic win for Juggas over our cuz from over the dutch. Joe showed a great beard and heart but man Joyce is just a machine.
* Liam Wilson WBO no 4 aiming for a world title shot early next yr in Aust if Shakur as expected moves up to 135 lbs. * Ex Japan southpaw Rikki Naito has joined Stevie Sparks for 3 weeks sparring. * Devin Haney to arrive in Melb Thurs. * Justis Huni has being sparring Russian HW he fought in Russia at Jr World Champs 2016 at Ten Goose Boxing Gym .
A mate of mine texted me a picture of a fight poster last night. Showdown in the Shire Ryan Waters v Junior Talipeau on the 20/11 About 10 years too late but probably a fair match up at this stage of their lives
