Call me crazy, but I think Tua would beat Foreman.

Foreman had so many more dimensions than Tua, it wouldn't be competitive at all. Look what George did to anyone who crouched in front of him. Joe Frazier was sent into orbit. Ken Norton was knocked goofy. Tua has never been as accomplished as either Frazier or Norton nor has Tua's competition been as strong as the guys from the 70's. Tua would have just been an immobile target for Foremans sweeping uppercuts. Foreman would have flattened Tua before the fifth.

 

Completely agree with you. I reckon it'd be a massacre from the 1st round.

 

I don't mean this sardonically, but its funny how great David Tua is head to head. We can't consider him an ATG or anything, but seriously, head to head, he has a chance in everything.

 

Foreman continues to get no respect!!! He's my favorite fighter of all time (yet I have pointed out who I believe had the best shots at beating him) and let me tell you... Tua is not in that list...

Foreman had Trouble with guys who could box and stay mobile, thereby staying away from his punches and if/when he landed being able to keep going... Not a big list.

The styles of Tua, Frazier, Tyson or any come forward brawler gets killed by Foreman everytime. Styles make fights and Tua would lose and lose early. :good

I would expect Foreman to KO Tua, though I think the Tuaman would give him a battle.

 

I think the big difference is the fact that Tua has an iron cast chin, I have never even seen Tua hurt. Tua is also a huge puncher and could hurt even Foreman. The automatic assumption that anyone who goes toe to toe with Foreman gets KO'd can be countered by the fact that toe to toe Tua is also a monster.

Ibeabuchi was able to stand in front of Tua and come out on top so it's not impossible to stand with him and survive. But the workrate Tua employed in that fight would have definately given big George probelms.

But then again George had a very underrated jab even in his prime when he was known more for his aggression and power than his boxing. And we all know Tua can't slip a jab to save his life. I'd favour Foreman but only just and it wouldn't be anything like Foreman/Frazier.

 

I think you are putting too much importance on Tua's chin. Even someone with a granit chin can still be stopped if they are taking too much punishment.


Foreman stopped George Chuvalo who has one of the best chins ever, I dont see why he cant stop Tua

 

Joe Frazier, small crouchy heavyweight, vastly superior to Tua, totally destroyed TWICE by Foreman!

i like david tua and i think he would be a serious proposition for anyone,but stylewise foreman is a nightmare for him.that jab and lead right uppercut which did for frazier would be nightmare for tua,he may even be stopped.
