Well obviously modern training and diet mixed in with the mentality to protect 0s and fighting once a year makes all modern fighters way better than everyone who has come before. Joyce would ko any heavyweight champion that there has ever been in roughly 15 seconds.

you try to be ironic, as if tyson were some kind of undefeated god of boxing and he didnt have his ass handed to him by journeyman douglas (28-4-1) in february 1990. there is 1 year and 2 months distance from 1988 and february 1990. You sound ridiculous confused.

I don't get caught up in 'what appears' to be - Joyce is slow. Period.

The results he's gotten are based on his level of opponent. He hasn't fought anyone good yet. Parker is an ok fighter, but he was a perfect opponent for Joyce to look good against. Add on top of that, he came in heavy - that was about the dumbest strategical move I've ever seen & Parker should fire whoever thought it up.

Askren made it 1:59 with Jake Paul, who has an 80% KO rate and 75% KO rate vs modern champions. After Paul dismantles Silva you will change your mind

    He absolutely did not.

I rewatched the fight only a few weeks ago.

    A silly, irrelevant comment.

He destroyed Bruno, Spinks and Holmes in less than 5 rounds.

Was Mike Jameson a better HW than those guys?

Because they would have been completely different stylistic fights, with a different version of Mike.

James Douglas was actually a very capable fighter, not just some journeyman.

His main issue was that he was terribly inconsistent due to his lack of discipline.

    He underachieved.

The time period of 1 year, 2 months isn’t relevant.

    We all know what happened.

    We saw the fight.

Mike just went through the motions and he was completely gassed by the 9th round.

That was not the same versions of Mike that had gone through Holmes and Spinks.

It was no different from a guy like James Toney struggling with a gift win over a C level Dave Tiberi, just a month or so after fighting Mike McCallum, and less than a year after having beaten Michael Nunn.

yes, a very capable fighter, because if he's not then your idol tyson is pure crap and heavily overrated (as he actually is). Buster douglas is what he is, a 28-4-1 guy who achieved nothing in boxing but exposing tyson.

And if buster douglas could kick tyson's ass, then joyce can too. Ofc.
