Because he can talk **** and then back it up when it matters

He’s also never been handed his world titles. Both times he travelled into long reigning champions backyards to relieve them of there belts.

He gives racist fanbases nightmares after destroying their hero in devastating fashion. I don't really like him as a person and don't care about his depression but he's a huge guy with serious boxing skills and fast hands/feet. Decent K.O power when he sits down on his shots too. His ring walks are epic too.

    Why do people like Canelo?

    Why do people like Saunders?

    Why do people like Wilder?

    People are weird.

Prior to Fury fighting Wilder, nearly every single pundit/fan thought Wilder would knock him out in both the first and second fights.

You can't then back track and say 'oh but Wilder lacks fundamentals'.... after the fact.

Almost every single pundit and fan? Fury was a +105 underdog https://www.dazn.com/en-US/news/box...ng-preview-and-pick/xufq3v08fhkj19s63t9ddad3z. Aka his chances to win were about the same as his chances to lose in the eyes of bookies.

I can't find it, but there was a poll where they were about even here, too.

LOL, The fact that Wilder is so successful and yet so fundamentally flawed is what makes him a mystery. You cannot tell me the man isn't flawed. Off balance, lacks a jab, doesn't set up his shots, lack of head movement etc. If you've been visiting this site for a while, you'd know that has been DW's detractors biggest critique. As far as me back tracking, I've always maintained that he needed to develove a jab and learn to hook off the jab. I've said several times that he would be a monster if he used his left to a greater degree way before Fury.

I think you had to be there in the early days.
Fury didn't put up with the garbage from a lot of the thug-type and/or fighters.
He was there calling Johnson a chubby-checker Mr Sunglasses and mocking Chisora.
He was giving it the Battleship and coach, who were disrespecting him in Murica.
He was giving it to Haye, who was normally the one doing the talking.

Then came the Wlad turning point.
He gave it to Wlad, who was such a fake, self-righteous and patronising poser. And full of dirty gamesmanship too.
Then he ringwalked to a Jesus song, beat Wlad and sang Aerosmith afterwards while Wlad looked like he wanted to die.

You can't make this stuff up.

He did the same to Wilder, put him in his place verbally and then beat him.

He stood up to Hearn and AJ for years and called out what they were while everyone else kissed their behinds, and has basically humiliated them by rising up to become the top fighter.

He's been inappropriate with Usyk, but most of the other fighters he has had issue with deserved it.
