Agreed---but a rematch should take place.

    Big Money

    Big Interest

    Big Publicity

    Big Recognitoion

    Big Fight

You know what impressed me about AM this fight? His chin, and his detrermination. Not his defense, footwork, handspeed or power. Think about it.

Cotto got beat up. He won't ever be able to handle Antonio Margarito. He can box and move but not as quickly as Floyd and would always get hit more than Mayweather. He was running for his life in the last few rounds and will fail again. Cotto can keep winning but never against Margarito. His best bet is to trade because he can't win 12 rounds against Margarito.

Cotto won't ever be able to defend himself enough to beat Margarito. Especially after this weekend.

Why should this guy wait and build him back up when he was the one that gave Margarito the chance in the first place.

Nobody said he had to but Antonio put him away. Cotto is the loser.

Why? ... after the Golden Johnson fight Margarito became the #1 contender for the WBO crown ... instead he choose to move on and fight other fights ... I don't think he wants any parts of Williams ... I think he's moved on for the time being.

Cotto gave him the shot and now its up to Cotto rather he'd want to redeem himself.

Keep dreaming....Cotto does not want anything that has to do with Margarito anymore. When you hit a man with all you got and he's still coming, you know you're in for a mess.

Again...you make perfect sense. He was the one who gave AMN the chance when no one else did.

Didnt Frazier beat Ali in the 1st fight?

    Bowe Holyfiled?

    Duran SRL?

I have heard all this talk before on numerous occasions. Cotto can win the rematch. He was not beaten pillar to psot.

And, FMJ fanboys...FMJ would never, ever hit AM as much as Cotto did, or as clean and powerful. HE WOULD RUN RUN RUN-POTSHOT-RUN RUN RUN-CLINCH-RUN RUN-POTSHOT-RUN RUN-ELBOW, POTSHOT-RUN RUN -REPEAT
    And, FMJ would beat AM.

Why are we acting like this wouldn't be bigger in a rematch ... why are we acting as if Miguel got knocked out ... his corner threw in the towel ... why are we acting as if Miguel wasn't competetive and fought 10 rounds with a broken nose, swollowing blood, and breathing through his mouth?

Because I think Margo has Cotto's number and will probably wins again even sooner. Williams is improving and has a win over Margo. This is the fight everyone should want.

    You are 100% correct--again.

    He wasnt outclassed...he was outlasted.

He wasnt out hit...he was out lasted.

He wasnt out muscled, out skilled, out talented...he was outlasted.

AM has a great beard, and remarkable workrate and determination.

Cotto was drinking blood and still went 11 with him.

I think that Williams will ruin Cotto's moment for redemption ... because Williams has underrated strength, speed, and endurance ... his stamina is off the chain and he can fight very well.

He beat Margarito quite easy and banked alot of the early rounds ... I think this time around he possibly knocks Margarito out.

I personally think a rematch will happen however, I think it will be at least a year before we see these 2 in the ring together. Cotto has a team that has his best interest at heart (ie: his uncle throwing in the towel) and I think they are not idiots.

I also think Cotto is not too eager to get directly back in the ring. I think he thinks it would be best for him to regain some confidence.

Cotto takes the rest of the year off and in January fights a fringe contender. He will probably pick up a belt in his 2nd or 3rd fight after this one, then the rematch is on (hopefully Margarito still is unbeaten at this point).

Arum is also not all about immediate rematches. He will want them to go there seperate ways for now so when they do rematch its even bigger. Earliest time I see this happening is Summer 09, if not 4th quarter 2009. It sucks to have to wait that long but Cotto needs and deserves a break- as does Margarito.

I dont know if this rematch Happens because I wonder how much longer will Margs be a welter I think after he rematches Williams he will move up in wieght and that gives him even more of a advantage over Cotto
plus does Coto want to risk another beating like he took that could be career ending
