I understand if your going by achievements he’s not the greatest heavyweight but realistically could any heavyweight from history beat him? He’s 6,9 has an unbelievable skill set as well as incredible self determination. Even if guys like Ali and Louis are greater could either beat him?

Of course. Many would probably beat him. He almost was beaten by 40 something ranked Wallin. Came close to being stopped by no skill Wilder. Can’t imagine what Joe Louis would do to him.

Wilder would’ve beaten him at least once with a different ref.

I am of the apparently unpopular opinion that the first fight should have been stopped in the 12th, many refs would have stopped counting and waved it off. Even the knockdowns in the third fight by Wilder...Richard Steele (circa the Tyson Ruddock fight) would certainly have called it off (that last is a bit trickier).

That said, I don't want to take away what Fury accomplished in those fights, both men showed sensational courage and imo draw win or loss proved themselves at the top of the heavyweight heap. And yeah, I'm fully aware of Usyk and Joshua.

I have Fury about to edge over Bowe at #15 ATG. Until he fights someone of the above caliber and beats them, all the men (Bowe on up to Lewis, Ali, Holmes, and Louis) beat him h2h. Tyson, FOTC Frazier, and Foreman stomp the daylights out of him. Holyfield takes a clear UD. Shoot, Norton has a very good shot.

Ok, the key thing here is that Fury is not a great boxer. He is a good boxer with great size. Forgetting boxers from the distant past or even the 1990s, I can't imagine Fury beating a prime Wladimir Klitschko. I would also make him an underdog against V. Klitschko. So, in answer to the thread question, yes, there are fighters who could beat Fury.

He is indeed a very formidable foe for anyone. But given how close he’s come to losing to lesser men I can’t help but believe that he’d be beaten by some.

    Ali maybe, although Fury's favorite.
Louis's best chance is to pray Fury has a stroke during the fight, otherwise no chance in Hell he can win.

In order to beat Fury you need 3 main attributes: size, skill and good speed. Punching power will also be useful, although you don't necessarily have to hit like a truck. So that leaves us with a handful of ATG HWs that are capable of beating him. It's not a guarantee they will, but they have a good chance at doing so.
IMO those guys are: Lewis, Vitali, Bowe, Holmes. I'd even add Ali and Tyson in there, although I'd make them underdogs. Also prime Wlad might do better.
In Tyson's case, he will have a huge deficit in size and Fury will lean on him to wear him out.
And Ali simply ain't hitting hard enough and Fury is just as smart as he is, and just like Tyson, he needs to close the gap since he's way smaller, and that's no easy feat against Fury.

Louis wouldn't do ****. Fury will make a joke out of him, toy with him and embarrass him badly.
    Louis stands no chance whatsoever.

It would be only a handful of men at best. His size is a huge asset.

I must admit, I thought the reff was going to wave it off.

The first fight was ref misconduct. Wilder left with his championship though, so there was nothing worth formally challenging.

I think an old Wlad might’ve still beaten Bowe and Wilder definitely would’ve if given three chances.

Fury would beat Foreman and Frazier on account of wearing them out in the clinches. He knows how to wrestle and is enormous.
