Would the 1980's version of Mike Tyson clean up the current heavyweight division and become undisputed champion today like he did in the 80s, or is he incapable due to certain limitations, such as lack of size?

Impossible to say, heart says yes but head says no, we never saw him face quality opposition so big, the big guys of his days would be small to average sized HW's.

Ruiz would lose quickly. Wilder has a puncher's chance of course but I think Tyson destroys his body. I don't think Joshua has the heart and fighting spirit to keep Tyson off of him. A Mike Tyson Fury mashup and matchup is practically impossible to predict although I give the edge to Fury.

The intriguing match up is Usyk and Tyson. Certainly Tyson never fought anyone with the combination of size, skill set and mental acuity possessed by the Ukrainian world champ. By the same token, Usyk has not come close to meeting anybody with Tyson's combination of ferocity, speed and power. My instinct is that if Usyk gets past the first three or four rounds he figures out Iron Mike and wins a hard fought decision. My gut says that won't happen. Mike Tyson by 2nd or 3rd round KO.

He'd be a decent contender, I can't see him beating Usyk, Fury, Joyce, or Zhang realistically. If Zhang's kidney gives out or Fury has a coke overdose he could, but he has no chance vs Joyce and very little chance vs Usyk.

Given how much he struggled with the "big" guys of his day, I think Joyce, Fury, Zhang's weight would be too much for him. Bluntly, he just never showed anything to make me think he could beat a fighter as good as Usyk. But Usyk is small enough that maybe he could land a lucky KO blow once in every so many fights.

Take him vs a guy like Hunter. Hunter is probably considered a fringe contender right now. Realistically I'm not sure Tyson could KO a guy as big and skilled as Bakole.

His size would have worked in his favour.

Fury would be the hardest match up stylistically, but I think he’d have gotten inside of his range.

Usyk has nothing whatsoever to have kept Mike at bay.

Usyk is the better P4P fighter, but the stylistic match up would heavily have favoured Mike.

    Mike U/D.

We have seen Andy Ruiz take out AJ, and we’ve seen Usyk beat him twice.

We have seen Wilder struggle with C class guys, before his power has had to bail him out.

Wilder’s power wouldn’t have bailed him out against Mike though, because fighting out of a crouch at 5’9 along with his great upper body and head movement, it would have presented Wilder with such an elusive target, he’d just never have had the time and the space needed to have gotten himself set, in order to have landed a huge power punch.

Usyk is a better P4P fighter than Mike, but the stylistic match up would have favoured Mike, as Usyk had nothing to have kept him from walking forward and pressuring him.

Joyce has great attributes, but is also extremely hittable. Too hittable for Mike.

Fury would be the hardest, if he could tie him up and stop him from getting in range and going to the body.

Mike would be favoured over everyone, and he wouldn’t have needed knockouts to have beaten everyone.

    Ha!

I’ve got to give you credit, your posts do make me laugh.

You’re an entertaining poster for sure.

Most of your posts are so bad, I can only assume that you’re trolling for a joke.

This is just another classic example.

It’s just too stupid for me to break down.

Tyson Fury is too big, too tough, too skilled overall for the overrated Mike Tyson.
