Cotto deserves respect for his brave performance, but that doesn't negate what he did in the second knockdown.

Cotto took the easy way out, stop trying to make excuses for it. I have mad respect for Alfonso Gomez when he went against Cotto. The kid knew he was outmatched, but he didn't give up, he tried his best the whole fight.

anyone who can call cotto a quitter has never been in a situation like that and dont understand, then again anyone with half a brain would understand why he didn't carry on.

whats even more negative is the talk about 'cotto gassing out, cotto quitting, why cotto lost etc instead of giving margarito praise for his performance... this wa sthe same case with the HBO team they got all emotional when cotto lost

Gerald McClellan is also a quitter for taking a knee against Nigel Benn. What a disgrace that was.

You just aren't making any sense. After the first knockdown, Cotto was hit many times by Margarito. Just because he didn't go down instantly after a punch doesn't mean he wasn't hurt from a punch.

that's the thing, you said it is done by the witnesses to the event, I am a witness and so you are. I don't think there was anything wrong with it but certainly you do. Different views.
He did tried his best it isn't like he didn't wanted to throw punches and clinch every 3 seconds and being on the defensive mode all the fight he tried to trade punches with a guy that's almost 6 ft and has an advantage of 6" in reach.

Makes me wonder how many seeds of idiocy he is single handedly responsible for planting on this board.
