Nobody is declaring Joyce an atg or future atg but let's look at the HW division, its hardly stacked.

As the OP has stated Joyce's jab, chin and cardio are good weapons that make up for his stiffness and speed. Yeah others are better skilled but they also have bigger flaws than Joyce. Saying all that he might never win a belt and will go down as a good contender. So maybe the OP is right in that regards

I also think they both use the lighter, faster punches to set up the bigger punches. Ingraining patterned responses to their punches to create openings. It's not just luck it's them setting their opponents up.

Usyk is especially good at this with his lead hand, he had Joshua like a puppet on a string, jabbing over and over again in the same place, making Joshua repeatedly respond the same way, then would feint and instead of throwing that same jab as before would land a hard cross instead.

Would like to add 'Timing' to the list of Joyce attributes. Yes most punches are slow and mostly heavy arm punches but he doesn't miss with much and his opponents are visibly hurt early and eventually take out.

I think JJ beats Usyk now, I know he lost in the amateurs but it was only over 4rds, I don’t think Usyk will be able to do the same for 12. I also think he breaks AJ and stop him. Wilder and Fury is harder to predict, Wilder has that power that bailed him out (almost) every time and Fury is slick big man.

The hype is real on this one.

Chisora beat Takam. He beat Pulev. He went life and death with both Whyte and Parker. These are the names that are consistently used to hype up Anthony Joshua. He showed more grit in one fight against Usyk than Joshua could manage in two.

Either this dude is crap or he isn't. People need to pick a story and stick to it instead of moving the goalposts to suit their argument. If Chisora ain't all that then nobody in the division is.

Joyce is an old man. Yet he has fifteen fights and fourteen stoppages. Dubois, Takam, Jennings and Parker are amongst those wins. If a resume like that can be downplayed then everybody else's can too.

I honestly think Joshua fancys a fight with Joyce,it won’t be this year but I would not be surprised at all if it happens in 2023.

Hype always runs amok after a boxer wins a fight. Even is not too significant

I can just say before the Dubois fight many here said he was too slow, boring and that he won because faced bums. The truth instead that came out is he has a hell of a chin, heavy hands, superstamina and he improves fight after fight. Joyce is dangerous for all imo even for Usyk who seems to be the only one who can beat him.

Joyce ends Wilders career. He wears Fury down and brutally stops him.

Hey thank you, I did see it, but got distracted & did not finish, thanks for the reminder!
I really appreciate your interest & passion, I just do not know what I would do with that endless material Thistle.
If I had a way to help send it to relevant parties to rectify the wrongs you see, I would be happy to.

Hey thanks Bb, a good tutorial! :)

I also thought of the muscle fiber type, I guess it is a case of even without a Shavers/J.Jackson muscle fiber profile, his technique, weight & strength allows him to hit really hard.
Something you mentioned elsewhere also applies to assisting his stamina-missing few punches.
And if he is not going Foreman/Lyle like on power punches that helps too.

Even with his flaws, Joyce seems a real threat, likely to anyone.

He lost one to Pulev and won via split decision versus Pulev, in the UK. Anywhere else on the planet he loses that decision too.

My biggest worry regarding Joe is his age and the effect the decline will have on his slow-fast speed. The downside of being a slow-fast speed fighter is there's a very fine balance between being too slow and too fast and a loss in a step of speed can very easily upset that balance and transform you from being an elite level slow-fast speed killer to a painfully slow bum over night.

Cheers, it's not about that, nor is there any ask to do such, simply I'd like to get "the ACTUAL RATINGS & REPORTS into the hands of as many good people as possible for posterity, before I sign off. They are ALL in Chronology in Files by Year, easy to both Follow & Enjoy... let me know if you'd like them.

He would pick AJ apart and Fat Andy.

At this point he beats em all with exceptions being Usyk, Furry and maybe Wilder. Wilder is currently a 50/50 fight and we will know more based on the next performance from Wilder.
