Langford vs Carnera

A still from the 1911 Lang fight. Sam 165 lbs vs 6’1” Lang 196 lbs. Easy win for Sam, Lang DQ’d in round 6 - basically fouled out.

Sam’s gloves appeared huge in that fight. Seriously, was he made to wear pillows on his hands to take the edge of his power? If so, it didn’t work. LOL.

 

That's ridiculous, considering that Carnera beat world champions in his career.

 

But not a punch power difference, Carnera couldn`t punch with his full weight.

 

Fake fights, he was completely untrained.

We have some of them on the tape and they look legit. We also have a lot of contemporary reports saying that his fights were legit.

 

Are these supposed to be arguments for Carnera lack of fighting ability? Is that all you have?

 

lol! His punch technique was awful.

 

You didn`t know about all this? Why do some people on this forum defend Carnera? Is it his size?

 

His biceps was huge though, I know it's important for you.

 

I know that he took part in fixed fights. I also know that the evidences against his world class wins are weak in most cases. I know that we have a few Carnera fights and most of them looks 100% legit.

Why I defend him? Because I don't like people calling professional athletes frauds without any strong evidences.

 

He was not a proffesional athlete, he was just a wrestler and a circus strongman who was exploited by promoters during a primitive era.

 

Yes I guess he has AJ`s power, lol

 

Boxing was a professional sport in the 1930s and it was actually significantly more popular than now.

 

Langford was the same height as Guillermo Rigondeaux

Guillermo with all his skill could not beat Mario Wach who has no skill.

Primo is obviously way too big for Langford
