Thought it would be one sided, but it is odd that a ranked heavyweight is consiered incapable of compeeting for a title.

However, WBA #11 Browne exclusively tells spamBoxing that he has accepted the fight in principle but the BBBofC has refused to sanction the contest at the moment due to Browne being 43 years old. NSB understands that this issue is being worked on and could be resolved

Disgraceful age racism. Apparently only Wilder, Joshua, Whyte and Ruiz are allowed to fight 40+ year old men.

Dubois did pretty well against Joyce all things considered. He should be fighting better opponents than Browne.

Ridicilous to refuse #11 ranked conteder because of the age

British regulation didn't see a problem for 41yo Ossie Jervier with 25 losses to fight, (and he lost all of his lasт 20 fights...7 time with KO), that 41yo is ok, but a 43yo #11 in WBO is too dangerous for his health to fight.Corruption.

I think it has less to do with age and more to do with what is a perceived huge mismatch. Jervier wasn't facing Dubois was he, just a bunch of journeymen.

While I doubt Browne is in any serious danger against Dubois it also about the reputation of the sport. Mismatches like this on what would be a biggish stage doesn't paint the sport in the greatest light and could be seen as damaging to the image of the sport.

Personally I'm quite happy they squashed the fight, Dubois needs to be fighting decent opponents not fed cans again where he learns nothing and isn't forced to improve.

Browne will struggle to make it past 3 rounds here. Dubois will be far too heavy handed for Browne who has no head movement and is a very poor boxer. Dubois struggles against boxers but not against sluggers.
