Topic of the minute - Ali vs Shavers 15th round.....you score it!!!!

In my opinion that last round was a pretty even,scrappy affair between two exhausted fighters but in the last thirty seconds or so Muhammad somehow found some punches that had Earnie reeling and rocking. This ensured Ali took it.

 

Pretty much exactly what Stevie G said.

I like prior posts of which you can say, “here’s an opinion prepared earlier by another poster which I totally agree with”.

You only need reference same and write “ditto”. Of course I couldn’t do just that because, as has been obvious, I can’t shut up.

Remember Sam always said “Ditto” to Molly, not being able to say “I love you” back? Damn. Tissues please.

See, I can’t stop. Anyway, on the heels of Stevie’s perfect post, I say ditto.

That's my take on this round as well. It was even round until the last 30 seconds. Not even close to a domination, but Ali won this round in his last flurry.

I think it to and froed and until Ali’s late rally I had Shavers edging it I think it was enough to turn it round in Ali’s favour though.

 

I have no problem with people giving it to Ali.

Personally give i slight edge to Earnie here. I thought he won the first half of round 15. Even in the second half, he was landing the heavier blows. Ali completely dominated the last 30 seconds. You could argue that Ali was more dominant in the last 30 seconds than Shavers was in the first 2:30 of the round. However, Shavers probably landed more blows overall.

Its very tough. I haven't seen this fight in years. I only saw round 15 for the first time in ages. I will have to re-watch to see if i score it differently next time.

So Shavers wins this round for me for now. I could change my mind later; however.

 

I think Shavers, easily. He landed multiple big punches that drove Ali back and he was definitely the aggressor for most of the round Ali had like one good spot and the rest was all Shavers.

 

Hmm. Shavers probably did enough to shade it due to his work in the first part of the round. But Ali finished much stronger and probably did enough to shade it.

Now you can’t get much clearer than that!

 

I think Shavers won this round (I don't think he was really rocked any worse than Ali had been), but this round is a good example of why I don't like 15 rounders. At that point, it wasn't even a competition of who was the better boxer, they weren't even really boxing, just standing in front of each other throwing punches.

 

People are calling this "even" until the last 30... wtf. He was out-landing Ali by like 4 punches to 1 and landing the harder shots
