Led to believe this is/was in the pipeline when Smith signed with Sky. Don’t be surprised if it happens next. Or maybe they’ll try and do it May next year and aim for Anfield?
I’m sure Shalom has probably already been onto Kalle about it - he’s a man in a hurry. Reality is the Benn fight is dead, unless Connors legal team can pull a rabbit out of a hat.
Beefy would smoke this bum but @CutThroatFade will be there to suck Jrs **** straight after the fight regardless
This fight would be fairly big in the UK would it? This would be pretty good next Benn fight will not happen any time soon with this drama Liam Smith is tough and technically very good. Would be a good fight for both IMO. I would probably pick Smith to beat Benn in all honesty. Especially since he wouldn't be drained at all fighting him.
With reports suggesting that Benn failed a previous drug test, he's facing a ban of at least 2 years. In that case Smith v Eubank makes perfect sense. Great fight for both boys and the public.
I too would love to see this fight and definitely PPV worthy for me. I would give Smith a cracking chance of winning.
Be an absolute barnstormer. Real 50/50 fight. Eubank would have weight/size advantage, and is slightly bigger puncher. Smith advantages would be his boxing IQ and punch variety. I think engine over 12 rounds, their heart, punch resistance and fresheners are as equal as you could get. Has 12 round war written all over it, points, properly a split imo. Actually if it happens the draw might be worth a punt. Will sell any indoor arena in UK out.
Will this be on PPV if it takes place ? I think Liam Smith would put point Eubank Jr, although Eubank would be the much bigger man at 160.
Interesting fight. Smith is very basic but doing things well. Eubank is stuck between styles but just on pure athleticism I would give him the edge. May change my mind if I looked into it more though. Big athleticism gap.
Would love to see it. Smith is a big favourite of mine. Comes to fight, huge heart, grit and determination. Of course he can be hurt. Fowler had him rocking a few times in the first few rounds of their fight. I think Eubank can do the same to him but he's not shown a killer instinct for a while, choosing to go to comfortable decision wins rather than finishing the fight early. You can't get away with that with Smith, he will keep coming forward, keep jabbing and make you work extra second of every round. I genuinely believe it could go down as a British classic.
