Chisora at 12 losses is in double figures, which is among the biggest numbers of last 50 years, but which fighter had the most losses on their record when they challenged for the Lineal crown?

To be fair to Ali, he was back in the ring the next month after London and fought 5 times in total in '66.
If you tag on Terrel or Patterson, either side to make a 12 month period he fought 6 times.

So it's not quite the same, but I agree with you about Chisora's age.
