If Max Baer had been born the same year as Roy Jones how would his career have panned out?

If you think that oldschool manner is stupid compared to what we deal with today, then the problem is not in Baer, but in the modern generations...

 

We're comparing him to a guy who went into the ring wearing power ranger suit, I don't think Baer's hair style is a concern...

 

The bad state of modern society is not Baer's concern.

 

I tend to be literal, but since some folks are way off in estimations, it still would be unclear, because people can be that far off & clueless so sarcasm can be lost.

 

Yes i hear you but i would have to be seen as pretty silly/outrageous/loose/dumb for my 147 comment to be taken to heart.

I'm thinking 90% plus would have seen thru me.

You may be right & I am naive, although the way some almost literally whittle down Ye Olde Tymers, I am not sure...

Better make it minimum weight to be safe for the likes of me!
After all, with extreme dieting & dehydration, Baer would not likely need to sacrifice more than one limb to come in at Jockey-weight.
If he is lucky it is only his left arm!

 

Yeah it was also a bit of loose fun at the way the whole weight thing is perceived in here, from both ends of the spectrum. You see some bottlers.

As he was he peaked at 200-210 but if born in 69 he would have likely been somewhere around the 230 mark, perhaps. Or maybe he would have been kept lean. Perhaps a Holmes type size around 212-215.

Say he was peaking around 95.......we had Holyfield and Bowe duking it out, Tyson on the comeback trail, Lewis on the rebound with Manny, Foreman was just crowned etc. Cruiser was pretty much devoid of talent.

Jones was still 168 and a massive 8 years away from fighting Ruiz.
