That's how I see it. Shields is going to outwork her these 2 minute rounds really favor Shields in this fight with he style and speed. She will move in pepper Marshall and move away pile up points and win rounds. While Marshall's only chance is a hail Mary ko.

Shields has considerable size disadvantages. Just compare her size in the ring vs Hermans and then look at the size of Marshall in the ring vs Hermans. Marshall is the way bigger and stronger girl now. No way Shields has the footwork to pepper for a decision. Very little accuracy on her shots too and poor technique when shes throwing combinations because she is just throwing with speed. Savannah is going to just walk through her and once she starts putting the pressure on after a couple of rounds and when Shields gets ragged she is ****ed and will be getting pummelled to head and body. A lot of these takes are making me think people just haven't watched either girl fight or they just dksab.

@grantsorenson you destroyed Shields by your comment. So basically you're saying that Shields is one of the worst boxers in history. Then how did she win 2 Olympic gold medals, 2 world championships, undisputed championship at middleweight and 3 division championships?

Winning is as easy as showing up. Women's boxing is horrible. Multi-division champion, simply implies that she put an extra 4lbs of fat on her ass and beat some disoriented dyke, that just happens to be heavier(with none of the implications that would have in male boxing) . Marshall on the other hand has power and skill comparable to a man.

Some people say Marshall can only win by a lucky big punch. But that's not how she typically wins. She just lands 'normal' jabs, hooks, bodyshots, uppercuts for a few rounds that happen to be much harder than anything her opponents are used to. She ramps up the pressure round by round till they are being battered around the ring. What condition is Shields going to be in after several rounds of Marshall's near male-grade artillery? Is she really made of different stuff?

It's funny how some people think Shields will be able to OUTBOX Marshall. Shields is at a solid height & reach disadvantage here and considering Marshall's style and how she rolls with punches and switching angles all the time i just can't see Shields landing a lot from range with her T-Rex arms. Marshall isn't only taller, she also has a very good frame with long limbs. Shields is great in roughing up opponents who can't move but Marshall actually has pretty good foot work for a big girl that she is. I'm not writing off Shields as i think she's a real dog and comes to fight and you shouldn't underestimate such a mentality but the gap in skills is obvious if you watch tape and i just don't think Shields really has the stamina and foot speed to make this a dirty and rough dog fight for 10 rounds. People will say but but but she beat Hammer who is tall and a good boxer too. LOL. Hammer is tall but Hammer had three problems: 1. she wasn't really using her size and height effectively because she wasn't moving 2. she gassed a bit and 3. she's not throwing back if you throw at her. Marshall on the other side is throwing back nasty uppercuts and left hooks if you try to make it an inside fight.

I mean the 2 mintue rounds definitely benefit Shields but i think Marshall takes this fairly easily. The big X factor here is the power in my opinion. While Shields is absolutely featherfisted, Marshall has some really decent pop in her hands and you can see that she has the Tyson Fury punching style. Mixing up the power. She's not throwing every punch with 90%. She's throwing 20%, 30%, then mixing it up with some 70% punches and never really going higher than that but you always fear it COULD come. She's also mean as ****. I think Marshall could potentially stop her but i doubt it'll happen with 2 minute rounds.

Marshall UD. 99-91, 98-92 type of scorecard.

I'm not sure Marshall has even improved in that much time due to her opposition being one reason, Perhaps you have more faith in her than Marshall does in herself, who can say, we wait & see.

Shields is much better technically but she is too small to win more than 5 rounds. Marshall should win this one 96-94 / 97-93. I don’t think it will be better than Taylor Serrano.

Maybe it’ll be a draw so they can do a rematch.

If Shields beats Marshall, your theory will be proven wrong.

It's women's boxing. A male flyweight just outside the Top 50 would KO both.

What? I don't understand your post. First of all, why should Marshall doesn't have faith in herself? She looks like a confident girl. So does Shields. Marshall fought two opponents Shields has faced as well: Femke Hermans and Hannah Rankin. Both Hermans and Rankin are pretty decent fighters. Nothing special obviously but tough, durable and they can make it gritty. Marshall completly battered those two girls and stopped them. Shields went 10 rounds with both.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. Shields hasn't faced any elite level competition as well. Her best W is Hammer who is solid but for sure no elite level. Simply lacks the amateur education. Marshall - like Shields - has that amateur pedigree you want to see in a special fighter.

And then you've got a lot of fighters who are on the samel level like Dicaire, Hermans, Kozin or Rankin. There isn't much between those names. Hammer was a good win for her but apart from that i don't see anything special in Shields resume. I do rate two stoppage Ws over Hermans and and Rankin way above fighting 3-4 more girls of that level and going to a decision because you can't punch for ****.

And let's be honest here...Marshall would destroy Hammer.

The size difference is massive. I can't say i've seen loads of either boxer. But Savannah looks very relaxed and like she has a genuine punch. Shields looks busy picks her shots well but doesn't look to have any kind of dig. It should be interesting.
