Would have been a good chance to maybe start normalising 3 minute rounds for women in World title fights.
The problem with 3 minute rounds in women's boxing is that one side always complains and turns it down. You have to go to the commissions and sanctioning bodies to make it 3 minute rounds for EVERY fight or at least for title fights. If you just negotiate it before a big fight between the promoters involved you don't see that really happening in the end.
Yes, absolutely. I'm not even saying that for equality sake. I'm saying that because the ebb and the flow of the fight would be helped by three minute rounds.

I've never really understood the reason for female boxing going just 2 min per round. Female football and basketball go the same length as their male counterparts, and so do marathons. Combat sports shouldn't be different. Scoring 2 min rounds in an evenly matched fight should be a nightmare.
10 1minute rounds is the way to go, ppl actually might start to watch a whole fight if that was the rules.

Title fights should be 3 minute rounds. Hurt fighters or tired fighters can scrape by too easily in 2 minute rounds. You get more activity but the bouts look more like old school amateur boxing. Quantity over quality.
A lot of the women have trouble with 2 minutes, meanwhile these two could easily do 3 and fill it with something worthwhile I expect. The floor is still very low in women's boxing, but it's creeping up I would say.
