Boxers who eats rusted nails for breakfast, boxers who you need to kill in the ring in order to win.

Probably someone we’ve never heard of. An old journeyman catching punches with his face every few weeks to pay the bills.

Juan LaPorte had a strong claim to having one of the best chins of all time in the lower weightclases.

    He fought all these guys

    Salvador Sanchez
    Rocky Lockridge
    Eusebio Pedroza
    Ruben Castillo
    Wilfredo Gomez
    Azumah Nelson
    Barry McGuigan
    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Kostya Tszyu

And was never off his feet

If it's "toughest", then I'd like to nominate Rafael "Bazooka" Limon.

I’d like some idea on where people draw the line between toughness and good chin/durability. Because a guy can be tough but not have the same punch resistance as someone else.

The toughest guy I think I ever saw, for one night at least, was Derrik Holmes. He went down eight times in five rounds vs. Wilfredo Gomez. At least once iirc without really being hit. Doesn’t sound too tough, does it?

But Ring Magazine obtained and printed the x-rays after the fight. Gomez broke his lower jaw clean in half and the fracture point actually split a tooth in half down the middle. That’s unimaginable pain. That he got up and tried to fight on after that is ridiculous, but he did.

Wow that's an iron jaw if I've ever seen one. Wlad was a big hitter, was landing nuke after nuke, and Peter was ignoring it.

I wish I was this tough without taking a punch from them.
