If Pac and Donaire were one offs then what does that make Pancho Villa (first Asian world champion), Flash Elorde, Ceferino Garcia, Luisito Espinosa, Gerry Penalosa, Donnie Nietes, etc.? Just because Philippines doesn't have as many champs as US, Mexico, PR, UK doesn't make them poor at boxing.

Alright! Just when there's been a drought of Filipino Champs here comes Melvin Jerusalem to bring some ray of hope again!

 

I just got a chance to watch the fight. What a beautiful straight right by Jerusalem. It's been five years since his last title opportunity and he sure took advantage of it. Congratulations to Melvin.

 

Hopefully Jerusalem can make the most of this opportunity and defend it for a few years. I thought the winner of his fight was going to go up against the Valladares-Shigeoka winner next. However, that bout ended early due to a head butt so I am not sure where that stands.

 

Charly Saurez TKO 12 Paul Fleming. Apparently Paul used his own money 50 k to make this fight happen. I have seen Paul Flemo with his 5 kids. Wtf! Sad he got stopped in his own show. Saurez, I have always rated highly. Finally someone coming here that can actually box and has motor and skills.

Very entertaining contest. Fenech keeps saying Saurez was tired. Don't know who Saurez is, he has a motor that keep on going and i thought it was a bad idea for Paul to trade and mix it up with Charly. I seen this movie before tried to mix it up and got taken to deep waters and drowned.

Saurez fought Lomachenko in the ams and has good amateur credentials etc. Too bad he turned pro late in his career. I think he is a solid pro so far that is being fast tracked to a championship fight.He is capable but need a bit of luck at this tough division lol like this one he was down on the scored cards and pulled a rabbit out of a hat lol..

Although not official. But Rausee Aleem has backed out of a fight with Casimero for May. Just like Buttler and Donaire all the sudden he's getting cold feet and don't want the fight. After talking that talk on his socials. Anyway, Casimero is trending in the right direction. Although opps are backing out. This is the most focused and driven Casimero will ever be. Good sign!! Might be one last horrah!
