Could Max Baer Have Thumped Joe Frazier To Defeat??

    Max has the power but not sure the technique. I think Joe has enough left to hammer a decision over him.

    I wouldn't bet on someone that inconsistent against Frazier. I think at his very best he could force Joe to uncomfortable fight and maybe even stop him, but it's not a likely scenario.

    Frazier would outwork him for a decision win. It's very unlikely that he'd stop Baer, unless Max decides to quit.

    The hard punching king of sluggery against the durable, inside master of swarmery.
    I could see peak prime Frazier breaking Max down eventually and stopping him.

    But prime Max against a below best Joe who may not be quite as durable as a few years previously, who maybe more vulnerable to a heavy handed headhunter than he once was…(scratching my head and blowing out my cheeks as I ponder my response)……

    The smokin' Joe who beat Muhammad Ali would probably have to take a few in a torrid 1st round but after that he'd grind down Baer.

    Nah.
    Sorry Janitor, Baer isn’t George Foreman.
    He didn’t possess the uppercut or punching skill set that upsets Frazier infact he didn’t possess much skill period.
    He might shake up Joe early on but after that Joe settles down and beats the **** out of him whether by stoppage or a sustained beating to a UD.

    Stylistically it is a very dangerous fight for Frazier.

    Why risk it if there is not a title in it?
