The rightly negative reaction is from Boxing fans not the general public/casual fans. Probably not by tomorrow, but the tickets will sell out and the stadium will be full- that’s the reality.
If Frank Warren had rang the doorbell this morning and thrown a bucket of **** at me as I opened the door at least I'd be clean by now and the event would be an unpleasant memory fading rapidly into the past. I'd also have a remarkable story to tell at dinner parties. It's not inconceivable that the resulting five minutes of fame could lead me to a lucrative appearance on a reality tv show. I'd be the 'bucket of Warren ****' guy. From there I could wind up dating a D list celeb, getting a wild card for a celebrity edition of The Chase or Bake-off. A Hollywood producer coming down off a night of debauchery and substance abuse could see me presenting my Pavlova and become obsessed with getting me to appear in his latest off the wall, but critically adored movie. Instead we get Fury vs Chisora 3 and it's going to be with us for oh so very long. Why of why didn't today begin with a warm bucket of Warren **** being thrown into my bleary eyed face rather than this, the metaphorical, but far inferior equivalent?
I would wager they won't sell that out. Social media for all its faults is a good measuring stick for interest and this is through the floor.
Wazza has only been in the driving seat for under a year and it's back to this dross? So to the guys who slate AJ's opposition, where are you now?
They need something big from Chisora at the press conference to try sell this fight. More table flips? Maybe he'll chin a 90 year old Bob Arum...
British Boxing is desperate for reform of some kind and new promoters will be integral to that. Frank and Eddie are no good for the sport and to be charged for fights of this calibre is a complete **** take.
Fury's popularity has surpassed Peak Joshua. Tickets will sell out quickly for this. No PL football means lots of casuals will be looking for something to do.
There are two last 16 World Cup matches on the 3rd Dec too, I think the runner up of England and Wales group are set to play in the earlier of the two games, not sure if that would be around 3pm or 5pm.
