Yep it seemed as though Lewis really struggled to start to with Bruno. Frank's jab was really thudding home.
Lewis did well to come back tho.

I would say that he is still a big fish in the British pond, but not in the European pond.

I remember the July 19 1986 WBA title bout between Terrible Tim Witherspoon and Frank Bruno in London, it was shown live on ABC's Wide World Of Sports.

Jesus Christ what the hell are you talking about?

A simple yes or no would've done

Tim Witherspoon's knockout of Frank Bruno is really underrated I voted for it in @Rumsfeld top 25 spectacular knockouts!

Bruno didn't beat Henry Cooper on a tight decision. The press crucified Joe. Frank was, by and large, a product of his management and the media.

That was part of it but it was also because Bugner often fought too passively, for a man of his physical attributes he never showed his potential often enough.

Regis' death haunted Bugner. Only when you rattled Joe and he forgot himself did you see the real Fighter.

Sorry to repeat myself, (Just made the point on another post), but the death of Ulric Regis made Bugner afraid to really let his hands go.
At his best, if you hurt Joe, like Frazier did, he would fire back. Richard Dunn said some very distasteful things before their fight and Bugner had sworn vengance. Winston Allen butted him and split his eyebrow.

Richard Dunn must've done some rattling unless Bugner realised it was a mismatch.
    The fight didn't last long

Richard said he'd put a picture of Bugner in his toilet so he could practice p...ing on him. It was seen as too distasteful to quote at the time. Apparently Joe went absolutely mental.

Hahaha I remember him getting wound up.
Dunn always came across as a tough guy outside the ring the way Paul Sykes was.

Sykes was a thug. Dunn's a good guy. He was a Foster child who went on the serve in the Para's. He was always devoted to his family.

I never heard anything negative about Dunn, i liked the bloke and I think Ali respected him which is more important.
I got a VO off my mate once and went visiting him on remand.Sykes was a few cells down.
