I'm looking forward to this. I like Wardley's attitude. For someone with no am background I think he's doing really well. I like how he's been respectful to Gorman too. I think Gorman is a really good boxer. I think he lets himself down with his physical side of things being out of shape. Hope to see a really good fight
He's not got a proper trainer?! Shocking, as he was touted early doors, and has looked good before, with fast hands, good balance etc. I think you're right, if/when he loses this, he retires from boxing
Never rated Gorman. Think people just thought because he was related to Fury and also a big fat bald gypsy he'd be a Tyson clone. Crap like Hughie.
I rated Gorman before the Dubois fight but he just looked like a rabbit in the headlights in that fight. Similar to Arthur's performance in that second fight with Yarde. It was almost like they felt the hurt from a shot and thought 'I want none of that'. I think Wardley stops him.
Wasn’t Wardley the one off those IFL ads “I’ve gone back to the dad and hit him a couple more times”? If so I hope he loses.
He was with Ricky Hatton up to the DDD loss. After that loss it seemed he had a bit of a meltdown which is quite normal when a championship fighter takes a loss, especially the first one, the ego gets shattered and has to knit itself together somehow, usually by self delusion and weaving of story's and events that put some sense and understanding to what "went wrong". This then starts the process of momentum for "the comeback" When he came back some 15 months later he'd been training with his old amateur coach altho iirc it wasn't his am coach who cornered him on the night of the lartey fight. Leading into that fight he'd been saying that he was right on things now and he'd been doing loads of work in the gym only to come in overweight and a lot slower than he'd previously been. Was a good prospect up to the dubois loss and hasn't got himself back properly imo. I reckon this could be his last should he lose to Wardley who has momentum. Would be a shame too cos he could be good Imo, if he got a good coach and full on dedicated himself
Hid whole ego was crushed the second he felt a Jab off Dubois. He put far too much stock into the sparring and you could see his demeanor change as soon as he felt the power
I'm not a fan of either fighter however this is not a bad match up and will be an interesting fight. I was also rating Gorman pre Dubois and he is much better than anyone Wardley has faced so far. Gorman has the potential to upset him here but way to inconsistent for my money.
Gorman's brother has just turned pro at HW, some decent fighting stock that family has. I don't think Gorman is crap, just not destined to be a champ.
Can't see anything other than a Wardley KO win. I do like Gorman but he should have never gone anywhere near Dubois.
Wardely was badly hurt in that Molina fight. He is defo no Joyce in the whisker dept and Gorman hits harder than Molina. Worth a punt on Gorman imo.
