''You’ve got people you aspire to be like. He picked Floyd Mayweather Jr because he shows the bling, he shows the planes, the shoes, the money. He shows the girls, he’s got clubs. I admire the man, he’s a brilliant and fabulous fighter. I admire him as a fighter. As a man, don’t talk to me about him...Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali — they’re men. They lead by example. You’re teaching my boy to be a bling bling kid, he’s looking up to you, Mr. Mayweather. No.'' “And so that’s why he didn’t listen. And now the world is looking at him as though he’s a greedy little pig and I tried to keep him away from that, but he wouldn’t listen. And you can’t hear, you gon’ feel.”
100%. I'm surprised more people don't pull up Eubank Jr on how much he idolises Mayweather, he's completely copying Mayweather in many ways.
Tyson was the king of bling back in the day, terrible comparison. Hardly a real man either he’s a convicted ******. Jnr does image himself on Floyd, he spent a lot of time at the mayweather gym as a kid being trained by Jeff I think.
Ali was a horrible bloke to read on another thread here was so shocked about him hes painted as saint
This is why you have to remove the man from the fighter in many situations. I've never particularly liked Mike Tyson the person, I think there's something still very wrong with him but he was a ridiculously good fighter in his prime. A lot of these character flaws are what made these guys so good in the ring.
