Yes I hate the canned crowd noise.

The beef was clearly that Brian wanted to finish off Ingo...and he wanted somebody to blame. Brian was a bully. The ref was the nearest thing he could vent at.

The footage shows that he was out of time. The bell didn’t go early.

Ingo did everything right as far as his career concerned, get that title, AND GET OUT, LADIES , LOVE AND LOOT, NO WAY HE WAS GONNA END UP IN PUNCHYLAND, Brian seemed unconsolable lol.

nothing wrong with an EX-CHAMPION 26-2 (17 KNOCKOUTS) SLATE.

Give Champ Patterson a rematch and 2, and get the heck out of the BIZ. Marbles intact.

That was an intense round. Brian London could be game when he needed to be. Incidentally I think that many of the European heavyweights of the 50’s thru the 70’s were underrated. There were some tough guys and good brawls among that group.

I know that Brian London and Henry Cooper engaged in some tough bouts, Ingo kayoed Cooper in 1956.

I’ll have to take a look and see what kinda film footage is available of some of those fights. Another tough guy was Jack Bodell. His chin was pretty weak but he fought with tenacity

He was kayoed by Jerry Quarry in 1971, round 1, but I am sure he fought hard.

Bodell was ranked WBA 1970 AND AGAIN IN 1971, RING MAGAZINE #8 -AND WBC #7 When matched with Quarry, (Jerry got bomb threats, WAS USHERD OUT OF HIS HOTEL ROOM.) BODELL DID BEAT BUGNER OVER 15.

yeah Bodell’s chin wasn’t the greatest. He could punch though and was a game fighter

He came at Quarry with his chin in the air and Quarry, one of the best counter punches around, obliged by knocking Bodell out.
I remember watching the fight and I thought Bodell, who beat Bugner, couldn't have fought any worse.

And it was Gene Tunney who drew up that blueprint.
