Bivol is very good, not great yet. It's not just about the winning, it's also about how he can handle so many different styles and could he be dominant, like he was with Canelo.
Ward muahahahahhahah. Are we talking about the same guy that clearly lost to Kovalev and then need to cheating in the rematch??? Bivol skill wise is at the top at any list you can pull off.
Bivol is not LHW ATG 1, but he has the most valuable win in professional boxing right now which certainly makes him an ATG.
Absolutely! Going the rounds and having lots of fights is the most important skills-building activity fighters ever do, imo. Followed closely by fighting good comp as much as possible, regardless of the risk of losing. There is nothing that comes even close. Funny, you never hear tv fight commentators say things like "fighter A stays super busy fighting as often as he can, his trainers say they want to emulate the greats of the past, pointing out that it keeps fighter A very sharp; and the results are certainly evident by fighter A's performance in the ring tonite, Bob......because I thought he looked complete ass! Your impressions, Bob? Just doesn't happen much
Perhaps you both have different standards for 'ATG'? I know my standards are kinda wacky, but it's all just for fun. Serious fun.
Oh and I completely agree, that is not ATG making status, in my book. But that's different from 'HOF', where people who aren't ATGs can comfortably reside somewhere. Funny, when I was a kid I always thought ATG = HOFer lol.
Barrera, Chilemba, Pascal, Smith jr, is good balanced resume. Then the complete washing of the p4p top dog in Canelo. A fight Bivol won with ease is a nice start to great Light Heavy Run. If he wins on November 5th against Ramirez whom himself has a nice super middle resume Bivol has a chance to make a great run at light heavy. At 31 he should have another good 3 years. I would say he has excellent chance if he puts together 3-4 more big wins to be top 10 in division. It’s really hard to climb into the upper echelon of this division being that it is so deep with a rich history. Bivol doesn’t jump out at me as an all time great yet. But he has good opponents available that should he win he’ll have a pretty strong resume.
Tough to get ahead of Charles, Moore, and maybe Fitzsimmons as the division's pioneer. I just love Michael Spinks. But still near the top.
Believe he will beat Ramirez. much better movement..will jab his head off and cruise to an easy win. If he fights Clenelo ten times....he will beat Clenelo .....10 times. time will tell.
