Most of his fights were entertaining…whether he won or loss …he always came to fight

Yes but they not take Berbick seriously. Berbick caught a couple of breaks in his career and made the best of it. Even in the Ali fight a shot Ali was still able to win rounds against him.

Agree with most here, he was a good, solid, strong guy who was actually pretty nimble, too.

    Ouch, never heard that!

Edit: Wicki says Berbick was murdered in a church in Jamaica, beaten to death by a dude with a pipe.

That's not true Page was actually in shape vs Berbick, not his usual out of shape condition and lost fair and square no excuses. Thomas did seem to age over night vs Berbick, but again both fighters were undefeated vs Berbick so he does deserve some credit, I think you're being a bit too harsh on him. If anything Berbick gets underrated nowadays for just being another Tyson victim, when in fact he was actually a solid tough Heavyweight.

And for being on the receiving end of a Larry Holmes dropkick off a car roof.

Dude’s like Forrest Gump the way he keeps turning up in odd historic moments. Trevor was like a box of chocolates — you never knew what you were going to get.

A split personality fighter, because he was a head case. Impressive one fight, a mess the next.

He was a solid and tough heavyweight with some very good wins. He could probably be a top 60 or so heavyweight all time but I suppose it’s debatable.

He was big an durable, and did what he had to do to win the ones that were winnable.

A lot of people giving him credit for the Thomas fight, which is fair, but it should be remembered that Thomas was a drug addict.

I read years ago that one of his relatives beat him to death over a land dispute. Berbick sustained some head injuries

But still, be beat several extremely high ranked heavyweights, one of whom was Champ.

Excuses can't be made for all of that, black and white win-loss record tells the story.

No offense. Berbick has a few great wins, plus a seriously courageous battle against prime time Larry Holmes, where he lasted the distance against a top 5 ATG. Period.

Or, Holmes is ridiculously overrated . Berbick was nothing special at all. His crappy opponents made him look better than he really was.

    Tyson exposed this.

Right, by that logic Douglas and Holyfield exposed Tyson.

    Right?

What's funny is that poster is making Tyson's win over him look worse.

One of the two assailants was his nephew.
