This had been done a million times but with so many of the best fights in boxing not happening in this era, just wanted to make another one.... And a follow up question.... In your recollection, does this era have the most ever big fights not happen? Or do you think its comparable to other eras? For me this era is the worst in that regard. Many of these arent just the best or biggest fights in the division, but are era and legacy shaping fights in that they would be each fighters most significant fight of their careers (not all but many). From this era or slightly before it... AJ vs Wilder : Fail Fury vs AJ : Fail Beterbiev vs Bivol : Fail Spence vs Crawford : Fail Loma vs Mikey Garcia : Fail Loma vs Lopez 2 : Fail Maybe you could take out the Loma vs Mikey one as not being this era, but then its still 5 of the best fights possible in the sport not happening. And since Im practically a casual these days, Im assuming Im missing a few. Crazy.
What are the best example of fights that everyone was calling for but we just never got? Juanma vs Gamboa Probably Spence vs Crawford what else
The way Fury is acting like a wishy-washy *****.... * Fury - Usyk *Fury - AJ *Spence - TC of course *Tank - Loma ....just to name a few

Thread title says “fights that never happened”. Most of the fights being called for in here still have the potential to happen, i.e Crawford/Spence. Kovalev/Superpimp Rigo/Mares Donaire/Mares
I see that fight as completely non competitive. Kovalevs jab would be essentially impossible for Stevenson to penetrate.
Yeah, some of those fights probably are going to take place. In terms of fights that should and could have happened but did not, I would say: Bowe/Lewis Jones/Hopkins II (around 2002) Mayweather/Pacquiao (2009-10) Leonard/Pryor Joshua/Wilder (2019) Crawford/Spence (2021-22, accounting for Covid in 2020)
Depends which Kovalev showed up. Kovalev would win if he's anywhere near his best, but I think you're selling Stevenson short (even though I never liked him and always rooted against him): his long straight left was one of the best in the game and Kovalev would have had to be cautious of it the whole time. Gvozdyk dominated Stevenson for a lot of their fight, but still got careless and rocked at one point. Gvozdyk is not Kovalev but it just goes to show that lapses in concentration would be punished. Once Kovalev started to decline he did get sloppy at times.
