This is not about acomplishments or resume. We're talking H2H.

And H2H you believe Sharkey is a level above Parker?

Probably because the entertainment value is too high, to just leave it alone!

Cmon you guys aren't serious when you down fighters like Louis Loughran Sharkey as being unskilled? Pull the other one! (but not too hard, we have old legs).

Sharkey never beat any fighter that big and that quick.

As is often the case with Carnera threads, the conversation ends up coming down to Carnera and Sharkey.

So what do these two fighters have in common, apart from two fights?

While they were both very beatable, you are looking at two of the deepest resumes in the history of the heavyweight division.

I don't think that anybody is ever likely to claim that for Joyce or Parker.

Both are sometimes mentioned in discussions about the weakest lineal heavyweight champions, but they are both in fact middle of the pack guys.

They didn't have one or two good wins, they had many good wins.

As I have said, they were beatable, but they were also men who should not be bet against comfortably.

Joyce is better than Valuev was in every departments, he throws more shots too and throws a lot to the body with a constant jab.

I think we can all agree, that during Carnera's time (1930s) there was more poverty, and boxers were more active (in order to put food on the table!), with often a lot more career fights.

So with an environment like that, favourable for peak achievements - do you think the top HWs from the 1930s were, on average, superior to the ones we have today (on average!)?
