    Let's be honest, though.

90% of the people here would ***** and moan if the ref or his team has waved it off. And then the eventually diarrhea of quit/glass heart accusations would follow.

The fight clearly should have been stopped a couple of rounds earlier, he wasn't going to win and was just taking unnecessary punishment. The corner and ref let him down. I am praying for his recovery.

I've always admired corner men who tell their fighter the truth, like" if you don't show me something this round I'm going to stop it" That fight should have been stopped by his corner at least before he was ko'ed. I sense that last punch did the damage and it should have never come to that

Yes, Weeks is one of the very worst referees. He doesn't care about fighters' health, nor does he care about being fair.

No they wouldn't have, we all watch enough boxing to know when a one sided beating is going too far.

    I don’t know man…
When a fighter is running on fumes is when they tend to get badly hurt.
Why wasn’t Tony Weeks looking at his face closely??? His face was hamburger meat but worse than that was the blinking.
Somethings not right when a fighter starts blinking like that…
You only need to look at Morrell’s trunks to see how this one turned out.

Hope he makes a full recovery.

Yeah, I almost never turn off a fight, but this had become repetitively brutal, and I just couldn’t stomach it.

I don't think so. It was obvious to everyone but his corner & Tony Weekes that he was in serious trouble. trying to hold on to stay upright. What does Weekes do ? Docks him a point !!!!! That was DESPICABLE!! He should not be allowed to officiate again. When he collapsed his corner did not come to his aid, neither did Weekes David Morrell saw & grabbed him helped him to his corner

I think boxing has to somehow become more scientific in determining size classes- not simply weight classes. Don’t ask me how. Bivol showed that size didn’t matter in his case, but usually it does. I also thought Gallimore was simply fighting a guy who was at least one size class above him.

Same day weigh ins, doctor present to make sure fighters aren't too dehydrated or otherwise making weight in an unhealthy fashion (if possible)

Of course it’s possible, boxers went decades without unhealthy weight cuts and rehydration.

Probably should of been more clear. By "if possible", I meant doctors looking for other unhealthy indicators as necessary, not knocking on same day weigh ins.

Damn, it was clear from about the 2nd how Yerbossynuly was a step slower than Morrell and he could barely lay a glove on him while he was taking devastating damage. He had so much personality coming up in his Genghis Khan getup. Prayers for a complete recovery.
