    KLITSCHKO WANTS NEXT FIGHT SOON

Two weeks after another successful title defense, Wladimir Klitschko says he wants to fight again soon. But with an unremarkable group of challengers trying to unseat him as the world's No. 1 heavyweight and negotiating snafus in every corner, that's easier said than done.
On July 12, Klitschko dispatched WBO mandatory challenger Tony Thompson, a stubborn southpaw, with an 11th-round knockout. That fight took place in Germany, in the middle of the afternoon, Eastern time. Now his management team is trying to put together a more attractive, and marketable, bout for the fall.
"Even if there are not many names," Klitschko said, "I'm still excited about exploring."
The logical next step is a mandatory defense of his IBF belt against rising Russian star Alexander Povetkin (16-0, 12 KOs), the 2004 Olympic super-heavyweight gold medalist. That bout should happen in November or early December, but negotiations have snagged with Povetkin promoter Sauerland Event over the purse split and European broadcast rights -Klitschko has a deal with the network RTL, Povetkin fights on ARD.
"I'm not 22, I'm 32," Klitschko said. "That means I'm entering my best time. So I want to stay active."
If they are unable to come to terms, Klitschko's camp is eyeing a date with the winner of the WBA interim title fight on Aug. 30 between journeyman John Ruiz and seven-footer Nikolay Valuev. A victory would give Klitschko claims on three of the four major belts.
The problem? Valuev (48-1), the favorite, is also a Sauerland fighter under contract with ARD. But a matchup with the giant Valuev, a rare opponent bigger than the 6-foot-6 Klitschko, would be a marquee event by the current standards of the lifeless heavyweight division.
"We would sign that right away," said Klitschko manager Bernd Bonte.

    I want Wlad-Toney.

It is the HW fight I have wanted for the longest time in recent years.

So how da hell would a Valuev fight be easier to make? If they cant find an agreement about the Povetkin fight, then they will go to a purse bid. But with Valuev that would have to find an agreement.

I really dont like how Klitschko keeps saying that a Povetkin fight might happen, but also might not. Thats the fight that has to happen and Klitschko shouldnt just give up his IBF belt.

What's this? 3 fights in a year? That'd be nice since he hasn't done that since 2003. Smart move on his behalf if it comes through.

Well, Povetkin next and after that the Valuev-Ruiz winner would be nice. After that Chagaev would be even nicer. Than he could go on to decapitate Haye and finally walk over Peter. Would be a nice run.

Damn, it would suck if Povetkin-Wlad falls through now, although it's probably a blessing in disguise for Alexander as he definitely needs more experience, and i'm not talking about fights like those against Sykes, although that was not Povetkin's fault....

The winner of Arreola vs Tua would be a fine match, winner of Valuev-Ruiz would be even better, but i think that one won't be able to come off before november as Ruiz-Valuev is august 30.

Alexander Dimitrenko would be a nice choice as well. He is rated #10 at Boxrec, don't know about other rankings.

Unify the belts, that´s the best Wlad can do.

A fight with Valuev will be great in germany.

Povetkin can wait and fight the winner.

Its understandable he wants to get in as many defences as possibly before he gets KTFO by the Hayematrix :bbb

If necessary, give up the WBO belt in order to unify the three main titles.

Nobody would give a **** about that IMO.

I don't think Povetkin-Wlad can fall through...otherwise Wlad could arguably lose the IBF belt I think. Can anyone clarify this?

What this probably means instead is that Wlad wants to get in a voluntary defence between now and fighting Povetkin maybe around November or December. Something quick and simple.

It'll need to be, considering we're almost in August already...
