I saw one rating that had him 7th at 168 pounds, while he still has some name value it looks like he's at the doorstep of gatekeeper. He may get one more shot at a big money fight but I think he would be assaulted by a guy like Benavidez and I think even Plant would out box him badly. I suppose he could try 175 but his chances are worse there in my opinion, so can he compete any longer at a high level?
Gatekeepers generally have no shot at winning. Jacobs still has a shot to beat anyone from 160-168. The odds might not be good, but he's got a shot.
I like the guy but hope he hangs it up and calls it a career. He’s a good guy and had a good career. Not great but he beat cancer and is healthy. Why risk your health when your skills are diminished?
