I'm trying to think of a historical example where a champion fought an opponent they had beaten convincingly twice and then was upset in a third fight but trilogies like this happen so infrequently I can't think of any. Wolcott beat Charles on the 4th try but their other fights had been close. I would be absolutely shocked but you never know in boxing. Fury would have to really come apart though I think he can easily turn in a whyte level effort here and win.
1st bout had moments of competitiveness from Dereck 2nd bout was a blowout 3rd bout will be ATG FOTY Which is exactly what happened in the Wilder trilogies....did it not? Fury tries to box Chisora blindfolded with 1 hand behind his back, get dropped heavily in round 1. Total war. Then Fury stops Dereck late with his stamina and heart BOOK IT.
Whatever reasons you need to make yourself feel good about this fight out them out there, because it’s trash.
Nobody in their sane mind can give Chisora any more than a puncher's chance. No matter age or styles, Fury is no idiot and he'll use his reach to protect his head. If/when Chisora gets inside to attack the body, Fury will do exactly the same and will lean on him. Basically it should be similar to the second fight with Fury wearing Chisora down comfortably, probably with a mid-late KO.
There may be some truth to that. Fury isn't fighting like he did in the shutout second fight, maybe he finds a way back to that but if he's less mobile and Sugar Hill tells him to just 'Big Dog' him, maybe he gets into some exchanges and gets into trouble. But I don't think that's really so much to do with Chisora, it could be anyone half decent at this point. It's hard to know what to make of Fury's style now and he's getting on too. He's not in his 20s now and a body that large probably wears out faster.
Chisora is as dangerous now to Fury as Helenius was to Wilder. I am a huge Chisora fan and he is a decent fighter even now, he'd give most a few tough rounds before gassing but he's already fought Fury twice and twice failed. Fury wasn't even in that great a shape for the 2nd fight and he dominated Chisora and forced him to quit. Chisora doesn't even have a punchers chance, if Wilder can't KO Fury, no way Chisora can as Chisora has always been a solid puncher but nothing more than that, he isn't a British Ernie Shavers, he's a guy who's hit Fury cleanly before and not put a dent in him. You could pump Chisora full with as many PED's as Jarrell Miller and Conor Benn combined and he'd still lose.
I think someone should have a serious talk with Chisora. With the amount of damage he’s taken over the years he’s just prostituting himself at this point. Zero chance of beating Fury.
People are mad because Fury already proved himself way better than Chisora years ago and now they are fighting again. If AJ were to fight Charles Martin again you would have a field day shitting all over him.
Probably give Wilder a tough fight? Not saying much as Spzilka, Molina, Ortiz, Duhaupas and Washington all gave him tough fights and caused him issues. So of course Chisora would cause Wilder problems and could potentially be him. Granted Chisora is a better opponent than some of Furys more recent opponents in Schwarz and Wallin. However there are better opponents available in the likes of AJ, Hunter, Hrgovic, Bakole etc.
