Ali getting up from Frazier's thunderous left hook or Marciano getting up from Walcott's hook/upper cut that flattened Charles?

Ali had taken a terrible amount of left hooks by Frazier over the course of 14 rounds, leaving his jaw swelling grotesquely, when he was dropped by quite possibly the best left hook Frazier ever landed in his career.

Marciano went down in the first round, to a shot that wasn't quite as perfect as Walcott's championship winning blow.

both tremendously tough warriors, but Frazier Ali 1 is the superior display of durability IMO.

Ali easy, last round after taking numerous hooks and got up at the count of 4

    Well said.

I actually think that the left hook Frazier landed on Ali in the 11th round (just after Ali beckoned Frazier into the corner) was harder than the one that floored Ali in the 15th round.

But the punch that floored Ali would have knocked out most other fighters.

I think Ali took more punishment in the FOTC than in any other bout.

To generate that power so late in the fight will always b more impressive to me. Gotta go FOTC.

Off the top of my head, Fury/Wilder 1 n Holmes/Shavers 2 r my favourite displays of getting up. Both just surreal.

I would say Ali also. The Walcott left hook left Rocky in a self admitted fog for a number of rounds. I think Frazier’s late stage single left hook that dropped Ali was harder - and I know it’s moving from that single punch in question - but Ali somehow took some equally devastating punches just after the KD but somehow held his feet. A truly amazing chin but a curse at the same time.

It was amazing the lefthooks Ali took after the knockdown. Don Dunphy called it a battering. Ali's toughness was insane.

I know, right? Admirable and incredible to see but sickening at the same time if you imagine yourself getting hit likewise. Amazing for Frazier to summon such power at that late stage of the fight after all that had gone before. Acute anger and hate can provide for supernatural resilience and energy.

Fury/Wilder 1 is my favorite display of getting up. Larry got up fairly quick when Shavers knocked him down. Fury was OUT. Looked like they'd need to carry him out on a stretcher. Then he just opens his eyes and gets up, right at the end. Unreal.

Way too modern for anyone to agree with here.

Frazier didn't generate that much power, he simply caught Ali off guard. Frazier threw more powerful hooks during the fight.

    Arguable.

I think it's moreso the point of the punishment and effort both men dished out, the time of the punch landed and how quickly Ali got up and stayed on his feet.

Me personally, no comparison - Ali's trumps Marciano.

He still generated enough power to put him on his ass it was a very picture perfect shot.

Holmes said that he has a knot til this day bcuz of it and he still was shooken up from it after getting up. Its subjective which one u like more but Fury/Wilder 1 for modern times and of all time Shavers/Holmes 2 but that's me. Not up 4 debate just how I feel.

Had Frazier landed that hook on Rocky he'd have been stopped
