TNT Tubbs will handle things. He would put the science on them.

Tony Tucker is an interesting one. Before his drug problems and period of inactivity, he looked like a very good fighter. He was difficult to beat back then with his size, movement and durability and he didn’t disgrace himself against Tyson in his points defeat. He also managed to stop Buster Douglas when he was losing on points, so he had something about him that wasn’t just slick moves and big hair.

Unfortunately his battle with drugs put a stop to his progress during a large part of the rest of the decade when he was inactive for more than two years…though he did return and went on another winning run culminating in a points loss to another ATG in the 1990s…Lennox Lewis.

Anyway judging him on his 80s form, none of todays boxers would be capable of stopping this guy, (apart from possibly a Hail Mary swing from Wilder when Deontay is on the wrong end of a points thrashing) and I reckon Tucker would have picked up a version of the title at some stage, probably by outpointing AJ.

Against Fury, I think we’d be looking at a chess match with neither fighter committing too much in attack. Remember Tucker went the distance in the 80s and 90s with the best fighters of each of those decades, two ATGs, so I have no doubt at all that Fury v Tucker would also go to points. Except this time it would be closer than TT’s two previous efforts.

That means the champions of the 80s (Holmes and Tyson are out of the question), and they should beat Usyk and/or Fury - no one.

Agreed Tucker would be right in the mix today. Early 80s Witherspoon would do well as well as long as he's motivated.

    1)Witherspoon (early 80s)
2)Tucker (pre drugs with a non broken hand)
    3) Pinklon Thomas

It’s a shame former 80s WBA champions, Tony TNT Tubbs and Michael Dynamite Dokes never fought each other. That may well have have been an extremely explosive fight.

Both fighters had some of the quickest hands ever for Heavyweights, would of been fascinating to see for handspeed on display.

TNT and Dynamite.....on the undercard of a Junior Lightweight fight between Bazooka Gomez and Bazooka Limon, (close fight but at this stage of their careers Gomez still had a bit more left IMO) and the fight's broadcast team including me! (My amateur days nickname was "Hands of Bombs", given me by my dad!)
