Obviously this could never have happened but say Lomachenko when he was @ 130 vs Shakur Stevenson when he was at that same weight. Who would have won?
Shakur would have that size advantage but no power to go with it. I really think you would need more power to beat Loma. Shakur is now approaching a level where this is interesting but he is also at 135, so we're talking at most the Stevenson of the Oscar Valdez fight.
At 130, a prime Loma decisions Stevenson in a terrific technical fight. There aren't many fighters over the last 20-25 years that beat the Ukrainian at 130lbs. That version had it all: speed, power, boxing skills, and ring craft.
I've said quite a bit a while back that Shakur wasn't ready for Loma yet. I'm pretty much at the point where if they fight next year it's nearly 50/50, any point after next year I'm favoring Shakur.
Stevenson is currently having an emotional meltdown on Twitter like a teenage girl. He is not saying who it is directed at but he really is proving to be a soy boy. What is wrong with these young millennial kids? You would think that the ones who are fighters would be less sookie.
Loma would probably beat the pre Valdez Stevenson at 130 but the version who beat Valdez would give loma everything he could handle and more.
Stevenson looked impressive against Valdez but He hasn't shown the elite skills of peak Lomachenko thus far.
