Erik Morales is a 4 weight champion and has victories over prime Barrera and prime Pac. There is a strong argument to be made that Morales is the 3rd greatest fighter of the 21st century.

If the consensus of opinion greatly favors Barrera in their first encounter, it also quite widely favors Morales in their second. Erik seemed flat in the rubber match and Barrera claimed a legitimate (close but clear) victory.

It's not the finely poised H2H encounters that seperate them for me, though, but Erik's victories over guys that Barrera couldn't find a way to beat.

    Very close.
    - Morales has one more weight class
    - Morales has Pacquiao, Barrera and Junior Jones
    - Barrera has Morales 2x, Hamed and McKinney.

A real close one. A bit of what you like. Barrera edged the trilogy and beat Hamed. Morales beat Pacquiao and Jones.

I'd like to add that I don't (as some do) see Marquez as a level above. They're all interchangeable. Yes Dinamita's career finished stronger but it also took much longer to get going.

Too close honestly. Take your pick, no wrong answer.

Erik Morales: Pacquiao, MAB, Daniel Zaragoza, Junior Jones, Wayne McCullough, Guty Espadas Jr x2, In-Jin Chi, Jesus Chavez, Paulie Ayala, Kevin Kelley

Marco Antonio Barrera: Morales x2, Naseem Hamed, Johnny Tapia, Kennedy McKinney, Rocky Juarez x2, Paulie Ayala, Kevin Kelley
