Zach Parker vs. John Ryder & Mohammed Hamzah Sheeraz vs. River Wilson-Bent RBR.

Can't read too much into the Z-Park vs Williams fight because the former suffered a serious shoulder injury in round 2 and was pretty much a one-handed fighter after that. He did really well and displayed a lot of heart to even make it as competitive as it was with one good arm and he hits very hard with both hands and puts his shots together well so it was obviously a massive handicap for him.

'Zach Parker suffered a dislocated left shoulder and tears to his rotator cuff, labrum and subscapularis during his British title win over Darryll Williams on November 3 at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow. He will undergo surgery this week to repair the damage.

Parker sustained the injury at the end of the second round and was forced to box with one arm for the remainder of the contest. He eventually edged out Williams in a competitive fight to claim the Lonsdale belt via split decision.

“The pain was awful,” said Parker. “I’ve never felt anything like it before, but with the guidance of my trainers Errol Johnson and Paul Mann, I gritted my teeth, kept my calm and boxed smart.

“There was never any question I would quit. That’s not in my nature. Obviously, it was killing me, but I couldn’t pull out of the fight of my life.

“I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and I wasn’t going to give it up.'

Juan Ryder vs Z-Park is certainly an intriguing match up and I have no idea who is going to win. Z-Park is a talented hungry young lion and as said, is a very vicious puncher. However, obviously Ryder is much more experienced and proven at the higher level and he has looked greatly improved since moving up to 168. He's also upset numerous prospects at the weight and he should by rights have a WBA belt in his trophy cabinet because he clearly beat the then undefeated Callum Smith.

 

Cool. I like both of them. Z-Park has looked beastly in some of his recent fights and if he can take it like he can dish it out he's going to be a problem. Blasting out the teak-tough previously never stopped or stopped since Vaughn Alexander in just 2 rounds was very impressive when you factor in the company Alexander has mixed in (Janibek, Bek The Bully, Anthony Sims Jr. all of whom are big punchers) and he's looked real good in both his subsequent fights since that one.

Juan Ryder is actually from my area (where I live now which is on the border a couple of miles away from the area I grew up in and lived most of my life) so I always root for him. Also, he's a nice guy and he's been blighted with way more than his fair share of bad luck when it comes to getting the rub of the green from the judges.

You could be right. I feel he would've beaten Jacobs more convincingly had he'd just let his hands go more. It's was frustrating to watch.
