Zach Parker vs. John Ryder & Mohammed Hamzah Sheeraz vs. River Wilson-Bent RBR.

One thing I've noticed with a lot of Frank's fighters. They sell a decent amount of tickets but their fans only watch the 1 fight. Always found that logic odd

 

Got to admit the crowd was an absolute shocker and about time fights such as Whyte v Franklin, Parker v Ryder return to their rightful place at the home of Boxing in the York Hall.

Great atmosphere for these fights at a packed and loud venue.

 

Different economy now. People haven’t got £100-200 to attend live events monthly. I know some promoters have looked at that and it’s part of the reasoning behind less shows. Thoughts being better to try and now stack a card so if people are choosing an event they will choose their one.

I think you will find a lot more shows at Wembley arena over the next 18 months and only major events in stadiums. I know for a fact that the fury fight is struggling to break 40k currently.

Also promoters are having to book any arena and date they can get at the minute due to backlogs of music tours etc from Covid. So Frank last night would have booked the o2 when it was available and it was likely pinpointed for Yarde vs Beterbiev months ago, when that fell out you can either lose the date and try and find another venue or stick a card together.

boxing fans also forget that getting 4-7k ticket sales is a good solid event and only looks shocking in massive arenas.

 

Good point re venues booked for music.

I’m surprised the Copper Box doesn’t get used more.

 

In addition, Hearn in particular has fleeced people far too much and for too long but they have finally woken up to it.

Anthony 'Muhammed Ali' Joshua exposed as a modern day Danny Williams with Whyte and Chisora types right up there with Julius Francis.

Incredible that Hearn got away with fleecing people for so long with high ticket prices and Box Office charges to watch non elite fighters versus a variety of puddings.

Now he is off to pastures new on DAZN UK which has been the biggest flop in British Boxing right up there with the Dave Channel.

The fighters know it, the trainers know it, the public know it - Hearn is a fleecer.

Sheeraz is looking like one of our brightest prospects and apart from a weight drained schooling by Skeete, has looked very good in his career so far.

 

Always thought it was odd putting Parker v Ryder at the O2 but as Trafford said they may have had the venue booked already. Parker will sell a few to Derby football fans and as said above, aside from AJ, Southern fighters don’t really get the back Northern ones do. Last one was Groves?

the east end used to always turn out for their boxers eg Kaylor and the likes. Seems strange that local boys there can’t get a crowd.

 

The East End has moved out to Essex, fighters like Kevin Mitchell drew a good crowd, Fisher does now tbf…

Its probably got something to do with Hamzah being looked after by Amirs old Manager..I think his name is Taz.

Didn’t Amir accuse him of allegedly stealing money/not looking after his interests.

I would bet Amir tried to warn Sheeraz off from going with him or something along those lines.

I was really looking forward to Parker vs Ryder but it was disappointing.
