Everyone uses them anyway and no body does anything about it so we might as well make them legal. By making them legal it gives the fighters who don’t cheat their edge back because their no longer at a dis advantage against guys like Clenelo on Clonor Benn.

It practically is. All top level athletes are utilising top grade pharmaceuticals. You’d have to be a fool to get caught, or lackadaisical. Anti-doping governance is both corrupt and ineffective with only a minuscule amount falling through the net.

I can see the argument for this, but only because I long to see the best man win on an even playing field.

I don't know much about peds, but is there an absolutely sure way to test for them that guarantees catching users? What if boxers had to be tested once per week, would that ensure no one can get away with it? I would much rather see that, than legalization - regardless of the inconvenience involved.

No. The PEDs that athletes currently take are only a scratch on the surface.

Most use a specific PED to 'level the playing field' for natural disadvantages. For example, Canelo uses bronchodilators, because he has stamina issues - whereas fighters like Bivol or GGG (prime) do not. They naturally have better motors. Going up in weight, his stamina was only going to get worse, so he needed the extra wind. Evidence would also point to Canelo using anabolic/andros as he's been going up in weight, which is also due to his smaller stature and the need to stop heavier opponents.

However, if you replace those mid-tier, easy-to-mask drugs with full-fledged steroids, you're going to regret it. You will see people die inside and outside of the ring. Steroids have a significant impact on your cognitive function and decision-making. Something like clen, will not alter your mind, but if you feed a fighter prop, DHB or tren, you're going to see the side effects very quickly.

Might as well kill the sport if you are going to do it.

All people involved in boxing should have to take ped tests every day as well as tests for recreational drugs and alcahol.

Why not? Most athletes are on it anyways not to mention it would get those pesky USADA and VADA companies out of here too, who are just as crooked

Yeah, and at the half way mark of the fight give the fighters 3 minutes between rounds and an oxygen boost. Pure oxygen to kick their stamina up for the 2nd half of the fight.

    A big no.

Why should a boxer have to take PEDs to compete?

PEDs are not drugs without health risks, the top guys might have the money to have the best juice administered by the best chemist, still risky but not as much risk as the average boxer medicating him/her self faces

Make life time bans for any positive PED test results, no appeals, good bye, don't let the dressing room door hit you on the ass as it closes behind you.

The problem with the argument is that everyone doesn't suddenly get the same PEDs.
The 'brand' fighters, prospects, A-side etc. will have the better PEDs due to their money, and it could turn out they have even more advantages.

Just imagine Matchroom etc. with no restrictions at all, spending millions on research to develop designer PEDs for AJ and Whyte and Canelo and so on.

And the opponents have to get their gear from Ronny Roider at the gym.

Maybe legal PEDs does even it out more, but maybe it doesn't. Hard to know.

Same goes for referees and judges ringside, so we can weed out the corrupt ones, hopefully. Say for example a judge renders a terrible score card, test him, have it seen that if there are any "things " in his bloodstream/ pee then get rid of him.
