Troy Williamson vs Josh Kelly - Dec 2nd

Yeah, I was impressed with Kelly early on, but quickly realised he was more style than substance. Plus I think Adam Booth is the wrong trainer for him.

 

Depends what version of Kelly turns up.

 

Enjoy watching Kelly but his style doesn’t suit the power he possesses. I hope he can do it because it feels like he’s been abandoned after being built up on a pedal stool; tragic watching him box in front of 50 people earlier this year.

 

I'm really looking forward to this fight. It should settle a few questions about both guys. I thought there would be a bit more buzz for this one

 

I'm looking forward to the bout, too, but the buzz has been absolutely dead. I was viewing the latest clips (fighter interviews, final presser, et cetera) that came out on YouTube yesterday and the interaction stats eight or so hours after the stuff was uploaded were pitiful.

Regional derby, free-to-air, I'd hoped there'd be more hype.

 

It seems some are more interested in Twitter battles, Youtubers, purses & promotors these days, rather than actual intriguing fights that are happening. The buzz for Gonzalez vs Estrada 3 is also very low key. This Kelly vs Williamson fights holds many questions for me on paper, Kelly has the skills but can't seem to put it together against better competition. Williamson hasn't had the sort of hype Kelly had but he's the bigger guy, the bigger puncher & seems to have the toughness to outlast & possibly break Kelly down. Kelly reminds me of the guy who looks amazing in the gym & on the pads but doesn't seem to have it as a pro but he has the talent to prove me wrong. Either way I just hope it's a good fight. The winner moves on the bigger things

 

Kelly also lost to Ray Robinson but was gifted a draw. The pressure is on tomorrow tonight. If he wins he deserves credit but I hope Williamson batters the insufferable prat.

 

Kelly points or Williamson late stoppage the general consensus?

 

The problem is, they can only really advertise it on Channel 5, and nobody watches that anyway. Be a lot more on BBC/ITV.

If I was Kelly and his team I’d be doing a ton of running and sparring in prep for this one. I don’t see him stopping Williamson but can definitely win on points

 

It seems a lot are going for Troy and i can understand why. The Ava fight was all wrong for Kelly at that time and that showed in his mental approach Imo. I think he'll ne more confident with Troy tho but there again maybe it's "the dark lord" who's not the right fit.
We'll find out this weekend. Can't wait
