Looked atrocious last night, against a poor opponent who was brought in for him to look good against. The AJ fight is pointless as the result is a foregone conclusion. Joshua knocks him out in 4-5 rounds. The only saving grace is that another bad KO I suspect will bring Dillian one step closer to a imminent retirement. I was amazed and surprised he accepted the Dubois fight in principle and was in very late stages of negotiations for it before the whole AJ vs Fury fiasco put an end to it. That's another fight that ends with him unconscious.
He doesn't have the chin or technique to be like Chisora. Whyte will start getting stopped the longer he goes on.
Agreed. That opponent was probably the easiest respectable opponent he could fight to headline an event and sell tickets. Poor form from Whyte.
I have never been a massive fan of Whyte but from Saturday’s performance he has slipped and I agree with the majority of posters comments in that the next time he steps into the ring with a half decent puncher he will be hitting the deck.
I've had a lot of work the last few days but today I watched the fight again and scored round by round. Ended up with 6 rounds for each boxer. Whyte was very lucky to get a narrow victory. We can state that Whyte no longer belongs to the elite and he´s effectively finished at world level.
Can't beat a grievance. Whyte was kept away from AJ (at a time he probably had a chance of winning - look what Ruiz did) by going the WBC route, knowing fine he was never getting a shot there. In the meantime he racked up wins of one kind or another, which looked OK at the time. Promoter earning his money and Whyte probably isn't complaining. His time is nearly 5 years past now. though.
I don't blame Joshua for taking on a couple of easy opponents, under the circumstances, but this is what makes the Whyte bout particularly unexciting. Whyte just doesn't fancy it.
Perfectly true. But look at the body language between Hearn and Whyte at the time; something not right there. The problem with building up a sense of grievance in a fighter: sometimes they'll have a grievance against you stiffing them.
100% done . finished at the top level. Shot He lost on saturday night. And most of the worlds top 50 heavyweights would beat this current version of him. He needs to either retire or drop down to domestic level, or else hes gonna get badly beaten up regularly. I actually hope theres a Chisora trilogy cause Chisora would destroy him right now and finally get an offical win over him
One war too many for the Bodysnatcher. I thought he was done after that hell show of a performance against an 87 year old Wach. Been hurt badly in the fights before against Chisora Rivas and Parker. Been stopped 3 times with a 1 shot uppercut. And then against Franklin he was very very very fortunate to get the decision (I personally had Franklin winning by a round) and made hard work of it when any other top 10 heavy would've had him out of there.
