It's well known Marciano faced an over-the-hill Louis in their 1951 bout, and while it is usually agreed a prime Louis would have bested Rocky, what about the fading Louis who bested Walcott in their 1948 rematch?

34-year-old Joe Louis of the Walcott bout, vs Peak Rocky Marciano, whatever age/fight you deem that to be.
Is Louis by this point already slipping too far to defeat the relentless, pressure fighting of Rocky, or does the Brown Bomber bust the Blockbuster's block?

But he probably had enough left to beat Marciano. Not a high bar for someone that good.

Rocky (and he wasn't at his prime yet when he fought Louis in 1951) beats any post-WW2 Louis. I think the pre-war Louis beats any Rocky.

How I see it. 1948 Louis loses to Marciano but lasts longer and maybe even wins the first few rounds.

Marciano TKO Louis circa ninth/tenth round.

I like Rocky but a longer fight.
Joe bruised up Rock s face in their actual fight, so wonder what he looks like here?!

I would take Rocky at any time against Louis.

It would be a closer fight and Joe could drop Rocky, Moore and Walcott did and they didn't possess Louis's power. But Louis was not the same pre war machine he had been and I agree with the consensus that Rocky would probably grind Joe down. But he'd get his hair mussed up far more than he had when he fought the washed up version . I also think a pre war Joe knocks out Marciano inside 8, he was just to easy for a guy like Joe Louis to hit.
