I would suggest a jab from an 18 stone Juggernaut Joyce into his busted eye, would be far harder/more hurtful than the punch Larena landed.
No. The eye injury was an accumulative effect from persistent jabbing, Lerena's shot total scrambled his senses. The point is his chin has not properly been tested and has already shown frailty. It's a big drama when you go down three times in the first round. He is supposed to be a future heavyweight champion of course it's going to be scrutinised and judged. Lets not forget the first round ended 12 seconds early effectively saving him from getting knocked out and he finished Lerena AFTER the bell had rung for the third. It was a shambles and he is a very lucky boy.
Lerena's promoter says they have lodged an appeal to the WBA. Not impressed with the officiating. Stops just short of calling it outright corruption and a fix. This content is protected
Larena’s shot did not totally scramble his senses - that is nonsense. Daniel was clear eyed and coherent, I don’t even think he was even particularly hurt by the shot. It was just a strange sequence that sometimes happens. A strong jab from Juggernaut Joe Joyce is much more damaging than that grazing punch from Larena, who outside of landing that, had zero to offer Dubois and was eventually battered out of the ring.
Dubois did get scrambled. You dont get stopped in your tracks like that for lacking concentration dude.
come on mate lets get behind our british boys no need to put them down ffs dubois a top boxer and he is right up there with the best of em
Despite the WBA rule for ending the fight if a boxer is down three times in a round, this was neglected with an excuse that the Brits are supervising the fight. Then we add ending the first round with some 10-12 seconds earlier because Dubois was wobbling and Lerena was about to finish him. Then we add Dubois landing two punches after the bell in round three with no interaction from the referee. Then we add the fact Lerena was shaken, but not that much to be stopped, plus he was about to have 1 minute break. So I'd say that in three rounds we saw more corruption than Fury-Wilder I, Canelo-Golovking the first two altogether.
