Let’s say he beats Usyk next year, more likely on points than knockout. Then he beats Joyce, possibly knockout although decision win is possible as well. Then finally gets the Joshua fight because AJ wants to cash out. He knocks him out more than likely and finally ends his career with one last fight against Wilder and knocks him out again. If things go this way, what will his legacy be in the heavyweight division?
That is a lot of assumptions, but I would say very good. In terms of big fights and big wins, he would still have few and far between compared to other champs, but he will have cleaned out an era in a way that beloved champs like Dempsey, Holmes, Bowe, WladKlit, Vitklit and Foreman never managed. So you could make a highly contestable argument for top ten, definitely top 15.
He'd be crazy to fight Wilder again. Imagine if he did all that then Wilder finally landed the perfect bomb after 40 rounds of trying. Wilder would go to the hall of fame and Fury would be found drowned in a sunken caravan wearing that creepy suit with all the old fighters on it. The truth is that Fury is right that there are various agendas against him. It doesn't matter what he does, the American myth-makers will never give him proper credit, that bias has been shown by now in various divisions for decades. On top of that the English won't give him credit for political reasons. Fury made it worse for himself with the Chisora fight, giving people fuel to discredit him but they do it anyway. Just consider how he was 'ducking' Wilder and ended up fighting him three times, then he was 'ducking' Whyte and fought him. Then he 'ducked' AJ after offering the fight when it didn't suit Hearn-J. Now he's 'ducking' Usyk and will likely fight him soon. The agenda against him is very obvious.
In Fury's mind he has already achieved all those things AJ won't fight him so that's a knockout He's sure he'd flatten Usyk & he thinks he handled Joyce in a spar despite being 350 pounds Fury isn't fighting the relatively low profile deadly Wilder (mismanaged) for $30m again when he is now fighting a no name middleweight for $50m. He'll knock AJ's head off for $30m though. Easy work.
If those three things happen he should be buying powerball tickets when it gets up towards a billion.
It would help bolster as somewhat weak HW resume, that's for sure. Don't know if beating Wilder again would be any different from beating a dead horse, which is what that fight is. Joyce still needs more than a win over Parker for me. But he is a threat, just needs to fight the rest.
I wouldn't like to see him fight Wilder again dangerous fight and no benefit in the eyes of haters. He's literally beat him 2x with a draw most felt he won and it's chalked off as one win on his resume by Hearn and Co.
