Tyson Fury defends Oleksandr Usyk and says he is ‘bigger than Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson

In recent months, the Gypsy King has blasted his rival as a ‘midget’ and branded him a ‘middleweight’ (the division he used to compete in as a teenage amateur) during trash talk.

Tyson Fury now in a recent interview:

“He’s beat a big guy before, AJ – 6ft 6ins – I’m not that much taller than him.

“I’ve been searching the world, I’ve travelled all over, to find a challenger who can beat me, and I can’t find one. 14 years…"

"Usyk’s about 6ft 3ins and just under 16 stone.

“He’s a pretty big boy, he’s a lot bigger than Muhammad Ali was back in the day."

"He’s bigger than Evander Holyfield, he’s bigger than Mike Tyson, he’s bigger than Joe Frazier, he’s bigger than Ken Norton.

“He’s probably the same size as ‘big’ George Foreman."

Fury either talks complete sense or complete garbage. There's no inbetween.

 

He is so insightful when not on coke or during a mental meltdown.

He's traveled the world looking for fighters to beat him who aren't AJ or Vitali throughout his whole career and now he's found a fighter who still isn't. He's looked over and over for Chisora and Wilder, trying desperately to sign fight after fight with them to prove that he's still better than them. And he's done it. And you losers can't respect him, still, after all these anti-gypite years.

Good. Now I want to see him make the fight. With Usyk's religious uncertain spring schedule & Fury's injury, this could get ugly to try to make. Most likely they wait months to see how things work out first.

As far as Usyk being as big as some of the HW's mentioned, yes. He is decent size and can sting & put you on notice with his punches but not the KO threat Holyfield, Tyson, Foreman were. They were much bigger punchers. They have all finished & stopped legit HW's but Usyk hasn't yet.

Tyson Fury talking, wow now that is a rare event, well no it is a rare event when that talk is worth listening too, this however is not one of those.

 

Fury is about as big an idiot as there is in boxing, he's very fortunate to be fighting in this era cause he certainly would lose easily to both Ali & Tyson. He's just shooting his fool mouth off and has no right putting Usyk in the same sentence as those legends.
