Pacquiao has been criticized before on taking supposedly old and shot legend fighters like Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik "El Terrible" Morales. Now Pacquiao is setting his sights on another legend DelaHoya, a boxer which many considered as past his prime. Can you blame Pacquiao on picking the old and shot DelaHoya? Poor DelaHoya, he will be possibly added to that list of "old and shot" fighters the PACMAN devoured.
That old and worn out DLH would still give Pac his well derserved ass whooping. :yep . . . but to answer your question . . . NO . . . because win or lose that's money that Pac could never earn even fighting a heavyweight. :rofl
Nope, I don´t blame him. Actually I think it´s a risk for pac, b/c he can just as well lose to ODH. ODH may be way over the hill, but he will sure as hell still give Pac a hell of a fight.
Not really. It's the biggest pay day out there and DLH is a lot bigger tha Pac so it adds up in DLH favour even though DLH is past his prime.
May not be totally shot but partially shot... Hmmnn Hoya might have bigger chances against PAC since he's only partially shot.
Put up a bet when this fight happens . . . I call it and I'll pick DLH. Name your poison bud! All for fun. :yep :good
I think most would agree that a past prime DLH who took PBF to an SD decision on his last competetive fight would be more dangerous that Juan Diaz, Campbell, Guzman, Hatton, Valeron&Soto(on the same night) or even JMM. Stylistically, ODLH is really bad for Pac. A taller guy who is probably equally as fast at 147, with KO power, a chin that will nullify Pac's power and a jab to keep Pac honest all night long. Most wouldnt rule out a 1st round KO from ODLH courtesy of a left hook. If I wasnt a Pac fan id put everything I own on DLH. I cant see how he can loose. My hope is that size is overrated and Pac carries everything he has now p4p to 147. If his power increases accordingly with his speed and endurance for taking damage, then he should win...very doubtful though given his frame. Oh yeah, MAB was very much seen as prime at the time Pac handed him his most devastating loss.
What has Pac got to lose? he will earn the biggest payday his career will ever have. When he gets beat down it will be because DLH is bigger thats all . If somehow Pac pulls out a miracle can you imagine? Its a cant lose prop for Pac, The only negative is if Pac gets seriously hurt, which is a risk. I dont blame Pac but I do blame that shameless egomaniac DelaHoya. Had he any integrity he would put a stop to this sham.
Gotta admire pacquiao for always going against all odds. Critics were saying he's got no chance against Diaz yet he blasted him. Now he's going against a far more bigger opponent. Knowing MP's character of giving his all in any fight, this is not simply a fight for money but rather the distinction of going where most woudn't dare. Expect MP to go for glory or bust in this fight with ODH. My props to MP...
If ODLH is as shot as people say, then why bother with Margo? I mean this guy has the deepest resume in modern boxing, Margo is nothing to him. As a retirement fight I see this fight as a fitting ending for him, a winnable fight + possibly the biggest fight available to be made in boxing today. Just think ODLH would have had faced something like 5 or 6 p4p #1 in his career. Pea, Chavez, Tito(?), Hopkins, PBF & Pac.
PAC is expected to lose on this one, right? But avatar bet will be fine still. I will let you wear the Hoya fishnet avatar if you loses...
DLH doesnt fit one example of a shot fighter. Theirs a huge difference between past your prime and shot. Ali vs Foreman he was past it vs Holmes he was completely shot. DLH has been a bit past it since around 03 or so but hes far from shot. When DLHs speed has declined to molasses like and he cant see punches coming then ill call him shot.
I just hope that if PAC wins, he'll be given full credit and not criticized on fighting an old and shot DelaHoya.
