The outcome of this fight has been changed to "No Contest". I do not know why.

As he promised, Jarrell Miller is scheduled to return to the ring in December.

The catch is that he's fighting Maximiliano Alejandro Sosa (10-2) in Argentina on December 16th. The only thing noteworthy about the 36 year-old Sosa's record is that - with a sole exception - it's composed of fighters with two first names. I'm always suspicious of such fighters and - given that two such fighters managed to KO Sosa - we should not expect much.

Aside from learning whether Miller is gaining or losing weight - there's not much to hold anybody's interest here.

Less than one minute into the bout, Booker crashed a pair of hard right hands against Neely’s chin, and the betting favorite went down. As referee David Braslow counted, Neely looked ready to go on, but after rising to his feet, he suddenly and inexplicably knelt back down on the canvas. Seeing this, Braslow immediately waved the fight over. Neely rose again and appeared angry with the stoppage but when he wobbled toward the ref, it was clear that he was still quite dazed. The time of the stoppage was 43 seconds of the first round.

Booker did 8 rounds with Shaw just 17 days ago. He probably knew he hadn't got more than a couple rounds in him and needed a quick stop.

Neely did not look good against Terrell Jamal Woods last summer. He was supposed to fight Jason Bergman a month or so ago - only for Bergman to fail to show up at the venue.

6' 7" Polish heavweight Damian Knyba moved to 10-0 (6 KOs) with a quick 2nd round stop of his club fighter opponent - Emilio Salas (7-4-1) on the undercard of the Lopez v. Martin fight.

This fight had actually been rescheduled from August. Salas had suffered a 2nd round TKO loss at the hands of Colby Madison (!) a few years ago - so this is not too great of an accomplishment even if Knyba did manage to win a dominate UD victory over Terrell Jamal Woods last Spring.

Jeremiah Milton moved to 8-0 (6 KOs) with a wide UD victory over the massive Dajuan Calloway (5-2, 5 KOs) on the undercard of the Crawford vs. Avanesyan fight.

Calloway weighed in at 387 lbs for this one - fully 137 lbs heavier than Milton. I didn't see the fight but it was allegedly pretty dull with Milton giving Calloway quite a lot of respect. Understandable, since it would take a man with a strong stomach to look directly at Calloway for more than a few seconds at a time.

Milton seems to have put together a string of not-very-impressive performances this year. He hasn't been in danger of losing any of his fights and he's never been hurt - but you get the feeling that he isn't going to make it very far.

Yeah, he fooled Neely with a feint, crushed him with an overhand right and then let his hands go. As I said, I think Booker had himself on a clock figuring he'd be gassing pretty quickly.

Side note: Neely did an amazing job of not sitting down after that first overhand right hit. Of course, it would have gone better for him if he had sat down...

Speaking of the legend Terrell Jamal Woods knocked out Hungarian Istvan Bernath who entered the contest at 10-0 with 8 Ko's. It's very likely that Woods will participate in fight 100 in 2023.

Nice work by Woods - though a quick look at Bernath's record shows his best win was a UD over (now inactive) Grover Young last year.

This is actually Woods' 4th fight since October 10th!

Intersting fact about Woods...although he has been stopped several times in his career...he has never hit the canvas. Not even Zhilei Zhang was able to knock him off his feet.

HW boxing could use another 10 guys like him...

Boxing247 ran a nice feature on Woods this past May entitled "Terrel Jamal Woods: A Bad Man With A Bad (And Deceiving) Record". Definitely worth a read.
